FV Renovations was hired to renovate 2 bathrooms: 1) Our original Master Ensuite shower drain leaked onto the kitchen ceiling below. FV was hired to gut the Ensuite and install a new free-standing tub, glass wall shower, vanity, toilet and wall and floor tiles throughout. 2) In the main family bathroom, FV demolished the bulkhead, replaced the bathtub and tiles surrounding the tub and on the floor. We had many issues throughout this project. To keep this review fair, well just keep to the facts. Out of the 4 fixture installations in the Ensuite, we had problems with 3 installations. At completion, the hot and cold water was reversed on the free-standing tub resulting also in the Riobel shower kit not functioning properly. The NEW shower drain leaked onto the kitchen ceiling below, resulting in the ceiling being CUT OPEN FROM BELOW to repair that. One of the vanity drains leaked inside the new cabinetry. So far, fingers crossed, the toilet is the only proper installation in that bathroom. In the main family bathroom, despite some avoidable hiccups, we are pleased with the result. The 2 most important trades in any bathroom renovation are the plumber and the tile setter. Unfortunately for us, the plumber was no good and the promised tile setter NEVER showed up. Fabiano, the owner of FV, did a good job with the complicated tile work, but it took longer than a tile setter would have. 4 weeks became 7 weeks. On the plus side, the painter was good, and the glass shower guy did an amazing job. The entire crew was polite and tidy. Fabiano seemed like a responsible man who unfortunately had a motley crew with varying skill levels. He fixed up their mistakes without laying blame. Perhaps we just had bad luck and got FV at the wrong time. Our biggest beef now is the kitchen ceiling is left with an ugly box that has become a new problem for us to deal with see photo.

Our 23 year old AC finally gave out this season, so we decided that it was time to replace both the AC and the equally old Furnace. We called Cozy World along with 3 other companies to get quotes. I met Boris and felt that he was trustworthy, knowledgeable and honest. Cozy World was not the lowest, but based on the great Homestars reviews, we decided to give them the job. Kam was the installer and he was professional and had great work ethics. The job was clean and the Lennox system they installed works wonderfully. Boris took care of submitting the warranty and the rebates for us. We are very pleased and thankful that we found Cozy World - we highly recommend them.

After contacting several landscape contractors, we were very happy to have found Falco Landscaping thru the Homestars website. From the first meeting, Paul exuded knowledge, reliability and accountability. Since my husband and I are both in the architectural field, we gave Paul a detailed plan of a large backyard patio, with 4 lamp piers and 2 big multi-level planters. He helped us choose the various materials which further enhanced the design and gave us a fair price and realistic timeline (it took approx. 10 working days). During the construction, we encountered some damaged sprinkler lines which were quickly repaired. As well, Paul was willing to correct any work which wasn’t “perfect”; he had a high standard of how things should be done. We appreciated that the site was left in a reasonable condition everyday so our young son can play safe outside. Paul and his team were courteous, friendly, and hardworking. If there is any advice we could give is that any extra cost should be discussed at the time it occurs and not left at the end. All in all, the final result turned out beautifully - exactly as we envisioned in our design. We are very pleased with the experience and highly recommend Falco Landscaping.
