When we bought our house an inspection report identified knob and tube was present and probably needed to be removed. It wasn't until I was trying to switch out a light in our entranceway that I realized how widespread the knob and tube was. We got some quotes from different electricians and there was a huge range. In one of the higher quotes we were told there was no guarantee that key architectural details in our home could be saved. Fortunately for us KNT was doing a job right across the street from us. I called the number and Bill got back to me in a timely manner and walked me through a big electrical upgrade at the house. It was of similar age and he reassured me that he would be able to preserve our home's historical features. I am so glad we went with Bill and his crew. From the start of the job to the finish we really felt taken care of. They put paper down to protect the floors, they were punctual, conscientious and hard working, often staying late in order to get the job done. It was a big job and true to his word he preserved all key features including curved ceilings and lathe and plaster effects. Filling the holes was included in the price which was really helpful. Throughout the process we were consulted on important decisions and never felt taken advantage of. They talked us out of extra expenses like upgrading to 200 amp service. They stayed on budget and met all deadlines. We had good follow-up experiences as well. When I realized an outdoor plug had stopped working Bill arranged to have it fixed in short order. This work was done over a year ago and we have had no concerns since and I can't tell you how great it is to have the piece of mind of knowing that our knob and tube was replaced properly. He fixed work that previous electricians had botched, re routing several switches to preferable locations, simplifying some light circuits and recommending a quieter bathroom fan were all excellent suggestions. He wasn't the cheapest but he wasn't the most expensive and I really can't imagine anyone doing a better job. I recommended him and his team for another job on our street and I know they had the same experience. It's so gratifying to be able to write a glowing review for someone who deserves your business. I'm sorry it took me so long to get this up Bill. Congratulations to you and your crew and thanks for your expertise and attention to detail.

The water damage side of the business was fine. They addressed the main problems caused by the water damage effectively and helped to negotiate with the insurance company to help with a reconstruction budget but after that it was all negative. Cost savings that they promised never happened. The job site was frequently left in total disarray. It wasn't safe to be around for me let alone our 3 year old daughter. They missed every deadline that they set. A 3 week job turned into a 4 and a half month job and we lost rental income as a result. During the reconstruction process we heard every excuse in the book but basically it came down to our job was of secondary importance to larger contracts that the company was doing or in the process of chasing. We are not squeeky wheel type personalities. I never complain about mediocre service, ever. I leave my 15% and chalk it up to experience. Maybe they were having a bad day? This is different. The general contractor was making amateur mistakes . There are still unresolved issues due to poor communication and oversight (almost a year later). We have given them every opportunity to make amends. I'm writing this review to protect others from having the same experience. By all means use them for water issues or mold abatement but do NOT let the construction side of 911 Restoration set up in your house.
