Dear Ronnie. How can you in good conciense omit pertinent details in regards to our contract. Yes you may be a licensed general contractor. but the gentleman you hired to do our work is not licensed in anything. you know full well the leak that prompted an electrical inspection was not because of the defective valve but because of the unsafe placement of the outlet and the omission of caulking around the tub that caused water to spill onto the outlet and cause a shortage while my son was in the tub. you passed inspection after you brought in a licensed electrician to correct the problems listed by the inspector. as i understand it the original contractor was given cease and desist order from the inspector and fined. as for the 3 doors that i repaired, you also know that your contractor did a horrible job the first time prompting me to do them again and i charged you 1/2 of my usual labor. You began this job in June 2010. We are now in Frebruary 2011 and you know full well that issues we have not even mentioned here still exist. We appreciate how happy you are to help us to resolve our issues. Our frustration is in the fact that there are so many issue for you to have to help resolve. You may have a full list of satisfied customers but your future customers have a right to know the truth about what happened with us. We will continue to share our experience with those people who are disabled or elderly and rely on companies such as yours to assist them. God willing you have learned from this mistake. I regret that you had to learn it at our expense.Paid top dollar for sub standard work. Contractor hired to do work unlicensed. Plumping leaks. unsafe electrical wiring. disgusting tile work. messy. disorganized. doors all not closing properly. we redid 3 of the doors ourselves. not completed 100%. were paid in full on time and we were made to feel we were being unreasonable and that the work was acceptable when it isn't.

Hire qualified sub-trades
Any advice to offer fellow homeowners facing a similar project?
When you contract with specialized companies to renovate your home question diligently who will actually being doing the work and if you are not pleased stop it from the beginning before you are left with a mess.

Company Response

Dear Mr. & Mrs. Nesci,

Your statement with respect to us hiring unlicensed trades is not fact. We are licensed general contractors and the plumbing & electrical contractors we hired for your project are licensed contractors as well.

As you now realize, the plumbing leak was a result of a defective control valve and PVC connections located within the shell of the SanSpa Walk-in bathtub made by Safety Bath that we installed in your home. We have corrected the issue with replacement parts sent by the manufacturer and have eliminated your safety concerns. Our electrical work was passed by an Electrical Safety Authority inspector, who's report indicated that our work was done safely & properly in compliance with code.

Mr. Nesci, the (3) doors mentioned in your complaint were completed by you. This was an acceptable request seeing that you are a skilled cabinet maker by trade and that you wanted the doors/trim to match the rest of the woodwork being upgrading in your home. We compensated you for this work without question, in full and without any hesitation.

I understand your frustration & concerns with the bathtub leak, as it took 3 visits by our plumber to discover the true problem while repairing the pre installed PVC pipes underneath the tub, (which were eventually replaced under manufactures warranty). Please understand that finding the cause of water leaks can often be difficult to pin point, and once we were able to find the solution, we did fix the problem.

We appreciate your prompt payments and are happy to resolve any other issues with our work that you are not satisfied with.

Your satisfaction and our reputation means allot to us.

Yours very truly,

Ronny Wiskin, President
