I called Drainworks to repair my American Standard toilet. They told me they were no available parts to fix them so I should replace the entire toilet, even though it was a specially ordered Victorian style installed only 4 years ago. They wanted to charge me $786 to replace the toilet. He charged me just to come out and tell me he wanted to scam me into replacing a new and perfectly fine toilet. I went online, found and ordered the parts to fix it immediately after talking to the fraudulent repairman. They cost $42. My handyman installed the parts and charged me $142. I think that because I am a woman they thought they could scam me out of money. I would NEVER use them again and I warn all women to stay far far away from these people. UPDATE: The company refunded me the $69 they charged to tell me they would not fix my American Standard toilet unless I found my own parts or waited 6 weeks until parts came from Mexico. Strange, since my regular handyman who had returned from vacation fixed it with American Standard parts the very next day. The best way to let you know what it will be like to deal with this company and disagree with their business practice to to post the email the Vice President Eddie Guido sent me: Chantelle, as per our conversation via telephone yesterday, DrainWorks has refunded the agreed upon diagnostic charge to your tenant. Even though we had a signed contract and had all rights to keep the diagnostic charge, it was refunded to show and prove to you what DrainWorks Plumbing is all about. As a result of refunding the diagnostic charge, the review you posted on HomeStars is not valid. As per their own Consumer Review Guidelines, reviews must be based on a financial transaction. You cannot have it both ways; your review will be removed. Having said that, the review you posted was completely fabricated anyway, and to post it even after our conversation truly shows the type of person you are. I am very grateful to have learned how deceitful, illogical and unstable you are and consider my company lucky to have had no business dealings with you now and to never have to do business with you again in the future. The truth will always prevail, and in your case the invoice that was written contradicts all your claims. Eddie Guido, Vice President, DrainWorks Plumbing He refunded me only to protect their reviews. Ironically, if he had not sent me this personal attack email I would not have inquired if it was true that I could not post a review if I received a refund. Like many things Drainworks asserts, it was _not_ true. The friendly people at Homestars assured me that I could indeed post a comment because I had proof of their visit to my house. I hope more people who Drainworks try to silence by issuing refunds read this and post their honest reviews of experiences with this company when you do not have the kind of plumbing they want to fix. Negative reviews are available elsewhere online and via the BBB complaints have been logged. Here is my response to Mr. Guido: I don't think you are deceitful, illogical or unstable. Just dull, sexist and predictable. And I am going to do my best to make sure that everyone who needs to knows the truth about what kind of businessperson you are so they don't become a victim of your insults or extortionist behaviour. I was refunded by you because it was the just thing to do - you refused to quickly and efficiently and reasonably fix my tenants toilet. Only to replace or expect us to supply parts. If I could do that I'd fix it myself as I have done in my other properties. You did not refund me for my silence.

Chantelle, DrainWorks dealt only with your tenant as authorized by you, via email, giving them full authority to deal with us in your absence.

You were not present during the service visit. You did not pay anything. You did not sign an invoice nor was work performed.

4 quote options were provided to our client – your tenant.

As you can see by our reviews we conduct ourselves in the highest manner and will continue to do so.

In the future, would it not be beneficial if Homestars provided the ability for both companies and users of this site to post invoices in question. Just a suggestion…

Cheers and Happy New Year!

It's a bit more money than hiring the guy down the street, but they are not scary and they respect your walls! They hustled. They tried to fit a mattress up to my third floor, couldn't but really tried their hardest. I've been a mover before and they did an honest effort.
