After spending some time shopping around for windows, we decided to go with Encore Windows as Mike was thorough, attentive and competitive. We also insisted on using a company that was Window Wise certified. New windows are only as good as the installation. We read the reviews on several companies, but Encore came ahead of everyone else because Mike wanted our business and did everything to ensure we made the right selection for our home. We were in a rush to get the windows installed and once the contract was signed, the windows arrived ahead of schedule. To our surprise, the crew arrived on time and completed the job ahead of schedule and on budget. I would definitely recommend Encore Windows to anyone who needs to replace their windows. I’m so pleased with the installation and the completion of the project, that I intend to call them in the spring to replace my front door and two sliding glass doors in the basement.

After shopping around and learning a lot about hardwood floors and installation, we decided to book Canwood Flooring. Ali came to our home no less than 4 times to discuss tearing out the old ceramic tiles and carpet, and replacing them with hardwood throughout. After much deliberation and considering, we selected stained Hickory as the main floor gets a lot of traffic, with the kitchen and family room being the focal point of a busy, active home. Ali was professional, attentive and thorough, and his price was comparable with all the other estimates we received. He was also one of the very few companies who agreed to take on the job as the tear-out was extensive. It included installing hardwood all areas…. the laundry room, power room, kitchen, family room, front hall, all closets and living room. It was painful to watch his exceptional crew work through hours of tearing out 5 layers of flooring before they got to the floor boards. They didn’t stop until the floor was in perfect, solid condition before attempting to lay a single strip of hardwood. They screwed in more than 2000 screws into the floor boards to ensure there wasn’t a single squeak to be heard. Once the installation began, it moved very quickly, which continued to leave us thrilled with the progress. During the demolition and installation, they ensured all surfaces were protected and at the end of every day, they thoroughly cleaned up all the mess. Ali and his team came in on time and on budget. I couldn’t have asked for a better home renovation experience. I wouldn’t consider going to any other company for a new floor and when the time comes to renovate the basement, I will only call Ali. I have already recommended him to 3 of my neighbors. Getting new hardwood flooring is good, but paying attention to all the little details, such as cutting the stone on the fireplace hearth, and cutting into the landing of the stairs so that the floor strips fit seamlessly, makes for a perfect floor. It’s all in the details. Ali, thank you for an exception job. You exceeded my expectations and left me speechless at how beautiful my new hardwood floor looks.
