Red came out to cap our garage door trims so we don't have to paint again, he did a great job and they look much better than before. The cost was $400 total for both standard size garage doors to be capped in white (black is also available as a standard colour and other colours too for more). Red was prompt on time both days it took to get the job done, he was very nice and easy to communicate with as he responded to all my questions and messages promptly. It felt familiar to deal with him, like dealing with an old friend or relative, even though we had just met. He also noticed our garage weather seals needed replacing as they were crumbling, and went out to get the materials and did the job for a reasonable extra fee. Highly recommend!

This is the third time I have used Treescapes and I keep going back again and again as they have the best price and service consistently. This time I called them back for staking down a tall spruce tree that was nearly knocked over in a wind storm and needed to be straightened. I reached out for quotes to a number of tree services and only a few even bothered replying, out of those Dave from Treescapes had by far the best price. A couple of other guys had come and basically said nothing could be done and they recommended cutting down the tree (which was perfectly healthy and thriving otherwise) at no less than $600! One guy even said there was nothing to stake the tree down to despite we had already strapped it around a strong metal fence right by it. Dave came by and said no problem, the tree can be saved and the job done for just $275. I like that he is an arborist and really knows and respects the trees, rather than just a guy in it to cut them down. He came out with a couple of other guys and the job was done in less than an hour, staked down with strong rope. He will even see the job through for a year while it remains staked down, and will come to maintain it if necessary. If there is one thing I would recommend improving on is faster communication as sometimes it took several days or even longer to hear back from him. Highly recommend!

I found this company while searching for window installers in Barrie that work with the GreenON rebate program. I just needed 1-2 windows replaced, so it was a small job. I contacted 5 companies total (one of which didn't even bother coming out and just quoted over the phone) and this one made my top two. The salesman (Matt) came out to my house and measured the windows, explained my options, the benefits, etc. thoroughly. He was able to offer me a competitive quote on the spot, which was the best value. He even brought a portable printer with him to get everything printed out immediately. He came out a second time to get the contract signed and speak with my husband. Any questions I had were answered promptly via email or phone call. He clearly explained the wait time was 14-16 weeks (this was in mid-February). A guy came out to re-measure the windows a few days after the contract was signed, just for the sake of accuracy when placing the order. To our delight, just about 8 weeks later (mid-April) we got a call that the windows were ready and they could come out the very next day to install them - great! The crew of four showed up about 1/2 hour earlier than expected the next day and worked diligently. I liked that they put blankets down to protect the floors while they walked and worked, as well as covered nearby furniture with plastic to protect from debris. They were done in just 2 hours. The new windows look great and are just what we expected, as well as the price (i.e. no hidden extra charges). I had read mixed reviews about this company so was really hoping for the best and I got better than expected! The only thing that they can improve upon is communication. I got our windows installed through the GreenOn program. They initially told me that they would take care of everything with the submission for the rebate, including taking pictures of the windows after the job was done. I emailed our sales rep the day the job was done to let him know and ask if he needed anything from our end. I didn't hear back for over a week and so I wrote back and at that time someone let me know that the guy was no longer there and I needed to submit the photos to their portal. It would have been nice for them to have contacted the sales rep's customers to let them know he had left the company and follow up on anything pending related to the order. I submitted my photos online and was supposed to get an email from GreenOn to confirm the submission of my file but never got anything. Turns out they had my wrong email. I also never got a rebate reference number which I was supposed to have received from Northern to check up on the status of my rebate. It has all been sorted out now, but I would have liked to have better communication with regards to all this every step of the way (i.e. let me know what they needed from me to submit for GreenOn, let me know when they submitted, let me know the rebate reference number, etc.).

Astrogal, thank you for that derailed review. Happy to hear everything went well.

Reid’s replied quickly to our quote request. I liked that they took the time to actually go up on the roof to really see and understand what the job would entail, vs. other guys who just wrote the quote sitting in their car without even getting out to look around. They answered all of my many questions to my satisfaction and even sent me a copy of their commercial liability insurance policy and WSIB insurance information, as well as manufacturer’s warranty. Another nice thing they did was personally deliver colour swatches to my house when I wanted to take a look at the shingle colour samples. The job was done as scheduled and the shingles were delivered the day before. I like that they didn't leave the shingles sitting up on the roof like I've seen with other guys. They just left them on the driveway. The job took 1.5 days to complete. The 2 guys on the crew worked hard, the first day they worked for about 12 hours and then another half day the next morning. I liked that they were professional and didn’t blare any loud music that disturbs the whole neighbourhood like I’ve heard other guys do. In the end, the roof looks great! I had a lot of neighbours compliment them on the great job they did and ask for quotes. I didn’t give this review a 10/10 because I felt the clean-up job could’ve been better. Having read all the glowing reviews on here I expected a stellar clean-up job but there were a lot of nails left behind. I don’t so much mind finding a few pieces of shingle here and there, or the shingle crumbs we had to sweep off our back deck and around the house, but nails are a safety issue. After the guys left we found about a dozen nails including a bunch stuck together. I had expected them to go through with a magnet to clean up all the nails. A “full ground cleanup” was part of the quote but I just don’t think it was done until after I called them that same day and they sent a guy over the next day to look around. The guy said he found about 30 other nails around the property. Another thing that I felt could have been improved was communication. Sometimes I would email and not hear back for days and had to follow-up; other times they replied the same day. Also, the crew just left after they were done without saying goodbye. I had expected them to knock on the door and say they were leaving, what to expect next in terms of clean-up, invoicing, etc. and I also would have liked to thank them for all their hard work! Instead I had to call the office to find out they would invoice later via email. I would have liked to be clearer on how the invoicing part works as I was waiting around the house for nothing for someone to come collect payment after the job was done and it turns out I didn’t really have to be home at all. So because of these issues I didn’t give them a 10/10. Overall though, I would still recommend them because the job was done on time and done well from start to finish. They took the time to go up on the roof to provide an accurate quote… they were responsive to answering my questions… they came on time…they worked hard to finish…and the roofing job looks great. There were also no surprises or issues with billing and I was invoiced what I was quoted, and all the terms and conditions were clearly stated in writing on the quote.

Thank you very much for taking the time to write us such a detailed review. I’m glad that you’re very happy with the workmanship and service that we provided.

I spoke with the guys, about this job, and let them know that the clean up was not thorough enough. They usually don’t have this issue and I’m sorry this happened to you. The next morning, I listened your voicemail that you had left the previous evening the day the job was completed. Once I heard your message and made contact with you, I then sent Paul out that same morning to correct the issue.

The guys working on the job told me that they knocked on the door, while they were doing the clean up, and no one answered. They said they were trying to get access to the balcony, from inside the house. The reason for this was that they didn’t feel comfortable putting a ladder up to it from the outside in case the railing or awning, that goes around the perimeter of the balcony, got damaged.

In regards to the email communication, there were quite a few emails sent back and forth in the two and a half months leading up to the scheduled job date you had requested. At times we get flooded with estimates and we try and respond to everyone within a timely manner. However, it’s sometimes gets very challenging. We appreciate your feedback and we will improve on this in the future.

As far as payment is concerned, it was very nice of you to want to settle up right away, which we appreciated you doing once we sent you the invoice. However, it does say on the quote that the client will make payment, to contractor, upon receipt of invoice after the project has been inspected. This typically happens a few days after the job has been completed. We will update our quote so this process is more transparent.

Thank you again for your business and your feedback. We’re glad to hear that you will be recommending us.

I have used this company to remove dead trees from our property twice now. Professionals and highly recommended! Last year, I got a free quote within a day to remove a dead birch tree (taller than our 2-story house). VERY reasonable price ($100) and for only another $25 they were able to grind down the stump as well. Came out promptly at the scheduled time and had the tree cut down and the stump removed all within 1/2 hour. This year he came back to remove a smaller dead peach tree and was here and done literally within 10 minutes (no stump grinding for this one). Super fast service! The price for that tree was $50. Very reasonable costs! I like that David (owner) is an arborist so he knows what he is doing and cares about the trees. Definitely recommended!

This company is amazing for snow removal and we have been using them since 2009. They have never disappointed! Before finding Ray Misiak, we had terrible experiences with a couple of other unprofessional and completely unreliable snow removal services which caused us a great deal of stress. After Ray, it has been smooth sailing ever since. We live on a corner lot that gets a LOT of snow from the city plow at the end of our driveway, but Ray's crew is always out at all hours of the day AND night clearing everything. This is especially appreciated as my husband gets up early to go to work and having that driveway cleared first thing in the morning and again when he comes home after a long commute is a wonderful feeling! They come out as many times as necessary after a snowfall, even multiple times in a day. And I swear they must have a radio communication with the city's plows as they are out in perfect timing sometimes just after the plows come by. They also offer convenient payment plans where you can pay monthly by post-dated cheques. Ray's service is worth every penny for peace of mind with snow removal. Highly recommended!
