9/10

Overall, I am very pleased with Sam's work and the interaction: practical problem-solving approach, prompt and courteous service, reasonable fee, and clear written quote. I had water leaking through the ceiling when it rained. Shingle repair did not work and roofers recommended I replace the chimney it was not in good shape and likely cause of leak. Got several quotes for rebuilds. Sam was only one who visited the site and recommended a repair rather than immediately suggesting full rebuild (which would have cost 3 - 4X more). I appreciate the practical, problem-solving - and money-saving - approach. They completed on time and it looks great. It hasn't rained yet, so I won't know for sure if it worked (which is why I have rated a 9). But he's provided a 5 year warranty, so I feel fairly confident we will solve the problem. I also had him do selectively tuckpointing as there were holes in the walls where mice may be entering. This was done neatly and comprehensively, given the tight access to certain parts. Communication with Sam was prompt and courteous. He provided a written quote for approval before starting. I would given a 10, but I have to wait for the next rain to see how things work out - sorry, but I think that's fair. I hope I can post a follow-up review and bump it up to a 10! Thank you!

Bill and Tim helped us with a full knob and tube rewire, added pot lights, and patched up the holes. After interviewing a few contractors, we picked KNT because of their professionalism, transparency, and fair pricing. They provided a detailed quote at the outset, with fully transparent, itemized pricing for all the work. Did they a great job and with minimal disruption, all things considered. We were able to live in the home throughout. The work took about a week and they provided a progress report almost daily. This was very helpful as it showed any additional work that was needed, as well as work which was originally quoted but not required. So there were no surprises when the invoice was finalized. It was a little dusty but this is not entirely surprising give the job and they made a decent effort to keep things wrapped in plastic and to clean up daily. They were able to fish through wire in order to rewire receptacles and lighting while making surprisingly small holes (which we asked them to patch). They also helped us to remove a few baseboard heaters at no charge - much appreciated. Communication was very prompt - when we called, texted or emailed, they always got back quickly. The work took a bit longer than originally expected because we asked for additional services part way through - pot lights and patching. They were able to accommodate this in their schedule. The ESA inspection passed without any issues. I would have given a 10 out of 10 but I had to touch up a few basement ceiling tiles that were removed for the job and then replaced. Not a big deal; most people would probably just painted them over, but I am a bit of perfectionist and filled them in with plaster first :)

I had Or Sela from Canaduct clean the ducts in my house in February of 2010. He was very thorough, courteous and professional. He clearly takes pride in his work and took the time to explain the procedure. He as also able to accommodate a Sunday appointment, which was very helpful with my schedule. The pricing was very clear and there was no messing around. I am pleased to recommend Canaduct and Or Sela to anyone looking for duct cleaning services. Thank you!
