Leighton Johnson, Tyler's son, came out and did the job -- fabulously! What a knowledgeable young man he is! He worked his butt off, even had to go down into a crawl space which wasn't nice, but he did it. Gave me a lot of good advice on how to take care of my 30+ year old Maytag dryer (which I will follow to the letter), installed some piping at the back of the dryer to make it easier for me to pull out and clean behind it. Having not had those vents cleaned for 5 years or so, I feel so relieved. Leighton told me to get it done every 3 years or so - which I will do. Can't tell you how good it feels to find a supplier who's honest and reasonably priced. Am giving the DryerVent Wizard at 10+++ DryerVent Wizard was recommended to me by Brannan's Appliance - another supplier here in Toronto who fixes all kinds of appliances, and who, as a senior who's fearful of being taken advantage of, I simply couldn't live without. They're both honest as the dickens.

Fabulous service, they took a buckthorn out of my backyard that I'd unknowingly nurtured for 20 years. An INVASIVE species for pete's sake! Shoots were coming up all over the place. It was killing all the plants in my garden. I e-mailed Toronto Tree Removal, they got in touch, they came and gave me a fair price for removal. Nice friendly people, I'd recommend them to anyone. Came on time, did the work and cleaned up. The stump was so big, Aaron had to bring in the stump grinder. Thanks heaven that tree is now gone. Thank you to Aaron, Heather and your incredibly hardworking crew! If I could give this company a 10+++, I would. No kidding.

So far this summer, Doru parged one of my basement walls which was showing early signs of moisture leaking through and then painted it – excellent job and very reasonably priced; and just yesterday, he completed scraping six layers of 90-year-old oil-based peeling paint from the front of my house (I live in a storefront downtown) – and then repainted the whole lower frontage – took about a week of hard work, but Doru showed up on time, worked hard and he was a joy to have around. The job involved some carpentry and repair to old wooden carvings along the front of the house as well. Since I wasn’t always here, Doru came and went as he needed – a totally trustworthy, skilled carpenter, house-painter and basement-wall fixer. I have a few other jobs around here that will need doing before autumn – and I’ll be calling Doru to do them for me. I honestly would have no hesitation in recommending him to friends and family, or to anyone who needs his services. He’s a true gem.

Back on the evening of June 25th, (three days before a celebration for whole bunch of school friends, all of us 70 years and over), I discovered hot water dribbling fairly fast from under my kitchen sink. I quickly turned the hot water supply off under the sink. I knew I needed a plumber and I was pretty frantic to get the leak fixed since there was still a lot of cooking and cleaning still to do. I picked Valentin at Strong Plumbing after I checked All Stars on the computer and found he had a 10 rating. I called him and left a message. He called back, I explained the situation, and he went out of his way to set up an appointment for the next day around noon – he showed up on time and had the leak fixed in less than an hour. Valentin’s prices are reasonable and his service is excellent. He’s a skilled, trustworthy honest plumber – they’re a rare breed – and I have no hesitation in recommending him to anyone. If I ever need plumbing work done around here again, he’s the guy I’ll call. There’s a good reason Valentin has that 10-star rating – he earned it!
