Im a Contractor listed on here for 8 years plus
I have ben listed on homestars for years the company changed my life,i have been busy for years with the help of this site.i have been a free listing then a paid listing and back to a free listing for many years.3 4 years ago i would have given homestars a 100 out of 10 rating,but now it seems they have lost there way.i chat with a lot of contractors that have used or area using the site and most seem to feel the same as i do. Paid listings only can write there own reviews Being able to write your own review and then have it ok,d by the home owner and it gets posted as a asististed review just Does not sit write with me i really think this is watering down the quality of the site and its reviews.As a homestar contaractor i could not sit there and write my own reviews and then just get the client to agree to publish,it just seem wrong.i know the client gets contacted to verify that they are happy with the words chosen by there contractor and it is acurate,but its just not wright.if your that good people will make the time to write the review. I loved this site so much and am very concerned on the chatter im hearing on the net,by home owners and companies that were and are using the site. John Groves

Hi John - thank you for your note, and we agree that the survey tool can sometimes be mis-used. Hence we are phasing it out. That said, we realize it is hard to get their clients to take the time to write a review, and have spent time building a more trustworthy tool to help the process.
