After Bill's team installed our new front door and side lights (see my other review) we were so pleased that we had him back to do our eaves troughs. Then after he did a bang up job on those, we had him back to install vinyl siding on our garage. We are very pleased with Bill and his team (as are our neighbours who used him for a new door as well) and highly recommend him. We'll probably be using him for some new windows in the Spring too.

We have needed a new front entry door with sidelights for some time now but the prohibitive cost we received on many quotes had kept the project in limbo. In fact, the prices were so high I considered doing it myself. Then we met Bill.

From the moment we met him we could tell he had loads of experience and new what he was talking about. Unlike other vendors, he didn't try and push a particular door line and he didn't try and tell us what we want. Instead he pulled from his years of experience and used his excellent communication skills to work with us to find the best door for us.

The installation went very smoothly and even though we had a bit of a colour mix up with the aluminum capping (our mistake!) Bill and his team were very flexible and accommodating. In the end we ended up with the perfect door for us, at a price *much* lower than his "competition". In fact, we were so happy with Bill that we're getting them back to do our eaves-troughs.

Approximate cost of services:
$3,300.00

I am not sure where to begin. When we first met Nick more than a year ago he seemed very professional and thorough. While his quote was a bit on the high end, we felt assured by his demeanor and supposed corporate backing, and he seemed very confident that our laundry list of projects could "easily" be completed in "3-4 weeks, tops" since he would have "3-4 guys her every day". Unfortunately the end result didn't live up to the pitch. Work commenced and moved quickly at first, but soon things got off track. Only 2 people were ever on site (often 1) and by the end of the first month some items were mostly complete, but none were completely done and there were issues with the quality of the work (paint drips/spray on fixtures and furniture, doors that don't close, wrong colour grout, paint on windows etc). Regardless of this, I was continually pressured to pay further instalments, despite the fact that the work wasn't at the required completion point (our contract had a payment/completion scale). When I mentioned this the response I got from the office was "our technicians say they are x% complete so the payment is due". I finally succumbed to the pressure, even though work wasn't complete, because I was promised it would be done "in a few days". Since then there has been very little work done and the contract is still not fulfilled as of today (more than a year later). It has been a continual struggle to get them to come here and complete the work. Also, several times they tried to reduce the work agreed upon or to get me to sign more documents. The latest round saw us going away for a week after being promised that "everything will be done when you get back". Surprise, surprise, it wasn't and we finally gave up and cut our losses. We were promised "On time. Done right." (their motto) but what we actually got was a partially completed job, delays and excuses. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Note: In fairness, I will say that some of his staff were very competent and we are satisfied with some of the work done (the backsplash, tile work and trim were done well, and the paint job is good for the most part). Unfortunately, any of the good work was overshadowed by horrible management.

What could this company do to improve their services?
Deliver what they promise when they promise it and maintain standards of quality. Also, come to the site more so that you are actually in tune with what is going on.
Any advice to offer fellow homeowners facing a similar project?
I would recommend against bundling many projects into one quote/job. Stick with contractors/companies who specialize (ie. carpenter for trim, plumbing company for drain work, painting company for painting etc.) and I think you'll be better off.
