I had Thompson Industries install a heat pump for me in June 2021, and I was clear from the outset that I needed to get the CleanBC and Canada Greener Homes rebates. They installed the Daikin Fit DZ17VSA241 and led me to believe it would be no problem getting the rebates. I paid $700 to have pre- and post-retrofit inspections done (as required for Greener Homes), only to be told by the inspector that my heat pump is not on the list of approved heat pumps. More than 1.5 years after the install and it's still not on the list. So, I am out $4000 on the rebate, and $700 on the inspections. I tried to get ahold of Thompson Industries about this issue dozens of times. I was told the GM would get back to me after his vacation, but I have heard nothing, and now my emails are just ignored. I did get ahold of the original sales person, and his response: sorry, keep waiting. When I asked if other customers are in the same boat, I get no reply. No attempt to rectify the mistake or make the customer whole. You decide if this is the kind of business you would feel comfortable signing $16k over to.

My advice to anyone considering using this plumbing service is to avoid it at all cost. I called them to clear a blockage in the kitchen drain of my condo because the sink was backing up black sludge. The roto-rooter plumber arrived and tried to get a snake into the p-trap below the sink, but too much water leaked out when he tried this. After a three hour service call ($330), he fiddled around and didn't accomplish anything. He then said he's have to come back the next day and have the building manager tell the other units to stop using their water before proceeding. After wasting so much money already, I decided to go with a different plumbing company the next day. The new plumber arrived, put a snake through the sink hole, and after a 30 min service call, the blockage was cleared. At this point, the p-trap could be opened without any leakage. I spoke with the Roto-rooter manager (Brian) to complain, and request some kind of refund for the poor service. He was rude, unprofessional and in the end, actually hung up on me. So, I did not get any form of refund at all. I would recommend going elsewhere for plumbing services.
