My parents have been dealing with water issues in their basement for years. This past year, conditions worsened to the point where we needed to do something. The house is approximately 60 years old, cinder block basement walls. Over time, the weeping tile system began to fail and being in a high water table area, water would simply collect to the point where water would push through the cement floor. We contacted Clarke Basement Systems and were provided a proposal by Rob. After some discussion regarding the best solution we opted to proceed with the WaterGuard Below Floor Drain system https://www.clarkebasementsystems.com/basement-waterproofing/french-drain.html . Our team from Clarke arrived on time as promised and were extremely professional. Many thanks to Lucio, Adam and Dymytri who truly took complete ownership of the project and kept both me and my parents completely informed. The workspace was kept organized and these guys knew exactly what they were doing. Within the first couple of hours, groundwater was be being evacuated through the sump pump system while the interior trenching took place. For a basement of our size, the entire system installation from start to finish only took 2.5 days and this included a full R20 insulation barrier. From my research, an exterior solution would have been much more disruptive and costly given landscaping, interlocking brick, asphalt driveway etc. The basement immediately feels warmer and obviously, we have experienced no water even though we had major thawing and wide spread flooding throughout Ontario that very week. While it's very early into our experience, we were so impressed with how smoothly everything went that we wanted to share the experience so far. I will update this review post April to let everyone know how the system continues to perform but feel very confident it is doing the job. Without any doubt, I would recommend CBS for fixing similar issues in your home (make sure to ask for Lucio, Adam and Dymytri for installation ;-)

My parents were looking to replace a 52 (yes 52) year old gas furnace and add Air Conditioning to their home. We decided to go with Comfort Shoppe for a couple of different reasons. First, they were the most responsive and accommodating to all of our questions, offered the best turnaround and assisted with the application for a new gas line to the house. They arrived on as scheduled and completed the work in a very professional, efficient and timely manner. Job site was left nice a clean and they managed to rid us of the old tank which was installed inside. A job well done and priced very competitively. I highly recommend them to anyone looking to upgrade or add either to their home.

Yes Bernie you were right a 52 year old furnace that had old Oil burner and an ancient control system. its like having a new heat system for the very first time. The new furnace has the ECM motor for very quiet start and run as well as a modern control system which takes your efficiency from 55% to 95% saving your
parents hydro as well as money on the fuel. They were on oil and the savings with gas will pay back the furnace in less than 3 years as well there is rebates to assist. Were glad to help your parents out with the decision to switch from Oil to Natural gas . Thanks for the review
