A few weeks ago during one of our many heavy rains, we noticed that our freshly renovated upstairs bathroom had a leak in the ceiling. I peaked into the attic, and was shocked to see a pretty substantial dripping in a few spots. I quickly searched HomeStars, and based on the great reviews I gave High Skillz roofing a call. Artur picked up right away, and was at my property within 45 minutes. He also went into the attic to confirm the leak location, and then he and a colleague went onto the roof in the pouring rain and patched up a 10ft by 5 ft area. After patching, Artur checked in with me throughout the day and that evening to make sure the leak had stopped. While patching, Artur told us that our roof had reached the end of its life and would need to be replaced. We did our due diligence and got quotes from some of the other top-rated companies on here. Of the four companies that we contacted, only two came out to even give estimates within the first week. Artur gave us a quote for the same top-notch materials but for much less than his competitors. Most importantly, Artur said he'd be able to start within a week. With the forecast calling for more torrential rain, we wanted the work done properly, but also quickly, and so we decided to go with High Skillz Roofing. Two days before the job was to start, Artur told me he was having a hard time finding the colour of shingles we had chosen. He offered to provide a different colour or brand, but when my wife insisted on a particular colour, he found a different supplier (at a more expensive price), and stuck to his word. The shingles and disposal bin arrived as scheduled the day before the work was to start. On the day of, Artur and his crew arrived on time, and got straight to work. They did a great job of showing me the materials they were using, walking me through the installation, and explaining how to slope my gutters correctly. They finished the work as scheduled, and did a great job cleaning up my property. With two dogs and small children, they did a triple pass with the magnets to make sure there were no nails remaining. It's been three weeks since Artur replaced the roof - and we've had a ton of rain since then. I've gone back into the attic several times and there is absolutely no leak, and I have peace of mind. Just this week (three weeks after Artur finished the work) one of the 'big guys' emailed me a quote for the same job, with the exact same materials, for exactly double the price. I'm extremely glad we went with High Skillz Roofing - they may not have some of the frills of the larger guys (full-time receptionist, staff just for quotes, etc.), but they don't charge you for that stuff either. Artur and his team did a great job at a great price, I would highly recommend them!

Similar to other reviews, my experience with AllMax was amazing. Allan, our inspector, arrived at the property about 30 minutes early and began his inspection of the exterior. Once we arrived, instead of just telling us he had finished the outside and asking to go inside, Allan took time to introduce himself, explain the home inspection process, and invited us to ask as many questions as we wanted. He then went over what he had seen on the outside, provided possible repairs, timelines, and costs. He also asked about our house search, and provided a baseline condition for the type of house we are interested in so that we had a fair comparison. As we entered the home, Allan was meticulous in everything, checking every square inch of the home. He explained everything he was seeing, both good and potentially bad, which gave us an idea of the overall condition of the house. During his attic inspection, he found mold and spent about 15 minutes explaining the potential problems, health risks, and remedies to us. I found this extremely helpful because it allowed me to approach the deal with the caution I needed, and there will be no surprises later on. Throughout the whole process, Allan was very thorough, patient, and complete in his responses. We always felt comfortable asking questions about what he was explaining, or flagging things we thought might be potential problems. Allan inspected our property in the afternoon, and the same evening he had sent over a complete PDF report, covering everything he had explained earlier. He also followed-up with a phone call to make sure I received the report, to explain some of the terminology he used, and invited me to reach out to him if I had any further questions. There's a lot of decisions to be made when buying a house, but going with AllMax and Allan is definitely one you won't regret.
