Our family has moved 5 times in the past 5 years so we`ve had our share of experiences with movers, some more painful (and expensive) than others. Rent-a-Son has by far been the best moving experience we`ve ever had. The move consisted of moving from a large storage unit in one town to a 4 bdrm home in another. From the very beginning, our co-ordinator Bob was able to immediately answer any questions and provide a clear and concise quote. Which helped a great deal as the day of the move ran like clockwork. The movers were punctual, courteous, professional and fast! The 3 movers never stopped until the job was done and in the end, the move was completed in half the time it took originally by a previous company. And half the time = half the price! :-) Most importantly, there was zero damage to our furniture, floors and walls, all fragile and large items were handled with care and the professionalism of the staff was outstanding.. I wouldn`t hesitate for a second to recommend this company. If you value your items and your home, this is who you should call.

I wish I would have read the reviews on Homestars before using this company. Our move was from a storage unit to a house 5 kms away so the move should have been straight forward. A quote was provided which included an itemized list of contents however not only did the movers arrive late and in an unmarked van, once at the storage site they refused to load our appliances saying that there was a cash surcharge for them, demanded a $1200 cash "deposit" once everything was loaded on the truck, drinking vodka while on the job, damaged walls and muddy floors...In the end we were overcharged for unprofessionalism and left with both garbage and damages to a brand hew home. What should have been a 4 hour move ended up taking 10+ hours. The only reason we're rating them a 1 is because they did eventually unload our belongings, eventhough most of the boxes and furniture were damaged. Not surprisingly the office did not return any message or answer calls during the move or anytime afterwards, even after filing a complaint with the BBB.

We discovered Star through an online blog and are so glad we did. Very professional, they booked an appointment for an onsite quote, bringing samples in order to make an informed decision. After making our selection they were punctual, worked hard and very friendly. Doing four windows and sliding door, the cash discount was an extra bonus and since then, we've recommended them to family and friends many times. For anyone that's debating wether to go with custom shutters or buy through the large retailers, definitely give these guys a call first.
