Stay away

This is a company to avoid. Promises wer broken, No wardrobe boxes (all clothing was wrapped in moving blankets) I shipped a lot of my own things in a borrowed mini van. Brent does not follow up or deliver on promises. I needed at least a 48' tractor trailer to deliver and he said two straight trucks is more efficient. On moving day we had only a straight truck and a cube van on the way.

Brent was also looking for about 40% for a down payment to secure the truck? I guess if you do not own any vehicles you must rent them and you need your customers deposits to do so. I told him that I was not pleased with the 400.00 deposit and talked to my solictor and that set Brent off into a rant like others have said about him.

As well Brent said any time we neede d boxes to either call or visit the office. I called about a week before our move and he said that they would not have any boxes for about a week and a half? Not a response you expect from a company that is dealing in boxes day in and day out.

When he did have boxes they were from M & M Meats, I guess he thinks if people see the M & M part of the label it will suggest that they are so professional that you would not notice it is boxes for puff pastry.

I do not know if Brent will respond to this like some of the others but if he does it will be his typical twist on things.

What could this company do to improve their services?
Stop running a business is the only thing that could save these guys.
Any advice to offer fellow homeowners facing a similar project?
Do no use this company, my mistake. Only use CAM certified movers.

Company Response

I am surprised at this response, I saved Thomas about $400.00 from another mover, he did not contact me at all to discuss any concerns, I believe all would have been resolved if he called me or e-mailed me, most of his complaint is a misunderstanding. This is the first time I am aware of his concerns, my business partner personally did his move and said everything went great as usual, no damages, We sent 1 large truck and 1 cube van as discussed, this was more than enough truck for his move, he must have misunderstood about what size truck we were sending, we sometimes send 2 24-26 ft trucks when required ( more money of course)Thomas told me after committing to a deposit, that he was short on money, I agreed to wait to get the deposit, the deposit was to guarantee 2 trucks and the personal, the movers are paid for 4 hrs if a customer cancels on short notice, hence the deposit. I do not on a regular basis lend boxes anymore , for Thomas as a courtesy I did. I personally dropped off some boxes. About 1 week before his move he wanted more boxes, none were available at that time. The boxes are free! no charge. Thomas was right wardrobes should have been on the truck for some reason they weren't, however the men have a system to move clothes without wardrobes so this wasn't a problem. In short , no damages and a saving of $400.00, they had great movers, extra space was available on the trucks. The customer did not contact me at all to discuss this. Read his complaint carefully about what I consider the real issue when moving someone,, which is no damages, no problem with the movers and a financial saving of over $400.00. My customer satisfaction rate is 92% this is data from Royal Lepage Canada, 8% of people are not happy for whatever reason and make alot of noise. We were ranked the top mover in T.0. Some people live in a perfect world and judge accordingly. Brent Routley
