Complete chaos. Made a deposit to start work in 2 1/2 months. Work was not started, neither were we able to get a hold of the contractor (Joe). We were notified that work will begin on a Monday. Friday came and Joe decided that the price needs to be increased or work will not start on Monday. The key to making a deposit months early is so that we can secure pricing increases (lumber increase was already foreseen-hence the deposit). Joe decided it was appropriate to only communicate with one member of the group of 29 neighbours, although we each made a deposit individually. He only kept our money for 4 months before we struggled to get our money back. I guess it's easier to borrow money from public fools and return the loan 4 months later and not do any work or atleast have the courtesy to contact the people who lend him some money to get by for 4 months..especially during this pandemic...life must be tough as a contractor.
