I really wanted to give Beau a good review. He is a likeable young man and I truly believe he means well. There is a way to behave in business and this is where Beau falls down.
To be fair our installation was done during covid and as a small one man business he had trouble recruiting help for the installation-- it took over a year! I hate paying money and then having to chase people to honour their commitments. But, eventually he got the work done.
The problem arose when the solar panel install was not done correctly. He had bunched up 16 panels in one location as instructed but, he tied them on a single line which blows fuses. The fuses are up on the roof and are 300V so while easy to replace it is not a job for a senior who is not trained. I asked him to repair the mistake which I was willing to pay for or at least replace the fuse on a service call so we could function while looking for another company to fix his mistake. He will not pick up the phone, return a call, a text or an email even though he was asked politely. This problem is exacerbated as he is the only one who knows the wiring layout, adding cost and headache for the next company as well as a financial penalty for me.
Beau also cut off one of the ventilation pipes on our roof without my permission. We now have dead squirrels caught in our septic system.
UPDATE:
Thank God Beau did not show up. We hired a professional installer to fix the problem only to find out the entire install was a mess and NOT code compliant! Beau used the wrong fuses -- AC not DC specific. But worse was the actual connections transmitting high power. A cheap box not properly secured to the roof and not closed properly with a hole in the actual junction box for water drainage-- you got to be kidding! No strain relief. As you can see there are electrical lines running unsecured to a hole in the box. Dried leaves inside the box just waiting to start a fire. Avoid this company at all costs.
