Proper Construction

Eddie provided a quote for work on a replacement 12x10 deck in my backyard. Quote was for $6750. I demolished and disposed of the deck on my own. I was also providing the composite deck boards. Not knowing what the going rate was, I agreed. My mistake. Work began 2 weeks later than the quoted start time. Work commenced on the support frame and base of the deck. I previously advised Eddie that I would only provide the deck boards as stated in our contract, but i still had to order all the screws myself. Eddie graciously discounted the price of the screws from the total cost. We changed our minds on style the deck boards and reordered, causing a 3 day delay. Materials were delivered on the Monday and worked commenced when it stopped raining 3 days later. After Eddie's team finished up, they did a quick
run through and asked if I liked it and they left. I had no idea that was the final inspection. I had to recall Eddie and tell him there were 6 unfinished tasks. I don't believe I should have had to tell them their job was incomplete. Eddie's crew showed up the next day to finish up the outstanding items. After they were done, I had concerns with the hand rails being full of chipped wood. I asked them to trim it off as it posed a risk to my 2 small children (4 and 2) with splinters . they told me that it was how they normally left the hand rails. When I insisted they trim it, they huffed and said I was the only customer ever to complain. Then they said that if they sanded it down it would ruin the look. Instead of arguing even more, I told them forget it, I would do it myself. If they had just taken the time and drilled pilot holes before screwing them in, this would have been avoided. The crew was
efficient due to cutting corner and lacked the craftsmanship. I paid 6750 minus screw refund, i had
high expectations. They were not met. I would not recommend this company if you want a deck made
with care. 1 month after install every single hand rail is deformed. Eddie would not do anything to rectify the situation because it states in the contract that wood naturally warps. This is just poor installation resulting in a poorly finished job. Avoid if you're doing decks.

Eddie and his crew were complete professionals from beginning to completion. Pleasure to work with and very pleased with our privacy fence. Definitely would recommend.

Eddy came by and within the hour, him and his crew dug five deck 10 " post holes, 3.5 ft deep and filled them with concrete on the spot. They even measured and lined up the brackets for my framing and set them in the concrete for me, leaving no mess for me to clean up. Super impressed.

Proper Construction were on-time, on-budget and did a great job installing our post holes. I made sure I prepped and marked the space well and they were able to complete the job quickly and did a great job of protecting our plants and yard. Recommend!

Just had Eddie and his crew install 6 (6x6x12) posts for a gazebo. Crew were great to work with, efficient and excellent workmanship. Would definitely use them again. Highly recommended

After calling several companies for quotes, we felt most comfortable going with Eldar and his team at Proper Construction. We had issues with neighbours wanting a new fence and then not which slowed us down and while that happened, lumber prices continued to go up. We also had to get the locates done which was slowed due to the pandemic. However, once we had the go ahead, Eldar and his team came within a couple of days and were finished in less than a week due to some rain and a weekend. Proper Construction had some of the best prices and the quality is really good. Even the fact that the screw in the frame is so much nicer than most companies that nail them in. Very satisfied and will contact Eldar for any future jobs and would most certainly recommend to anyone else out there looking for great value. Thanks again guys, great job!

They did our deck in April 2021. Now August and railings are warping and pulling away. Larger that normal cracks in the wood (I've looked over many decks in the neighborhood older than mine with less cracks). I called once and was told to use wood filler and stain. My painter of 30 years said there is no reliable deck stain that lasts. I called several other times and never heard back. It's a take your money and run kind of company - be careful as you will never hear back from them.
