After a first great experience with Vic (see my prior review), I am sorry to say our second one was horrible.
We moved to a new house that had ethernet cables built in, and hired him to install electrical outlets in our basement, activate our Ethernet ports and install strip lighting underneath our kitchen cabinets.
His initial visit was in August 2020. He installed the outlets without issue. He noted he did have the right drivers for the lighting so would need to come back another day, which was acceptable. However, he did not finish the internet work, only installing about half of the ports, as he could not find the other wires, and also saying he had to leave to be at another job later that night. We had the electrician who worked on the house come in, and found the other wires hidden behind insulation, behind a Rogers faceplate, and behind the air vent. I am no electrician, but I thought these were not too hard to find for the other electrician.
He requested partial payment despite the job not being finished. It should be noted that we paid him for the electrical/internet work portion, even though it was not completed.
We contacted him in 2021 to finish the work, but several times were met with delays and extremely poor communication.
The first time he promised to come, he called us to cancel on the day of the job, calling us to let us know he did not receive the parts for the strip lighting, saying there was a back order. While this is understandable, I would think it be better to ensure the parts are received before committing to a date.
Also, in early April, he was supposed to come on a Saturday, but he did not show up or call us or respond to multiple calls to his business number. The next day, he emailed me and a few other people saying that his team had to enter COVID lockdown due to a contact as of the prior Thursday. It would have been helpful if he told us this before instead of leaving us in the dark.
Then, we scheduled a time for him to come this past Saturday June 19th, booking it over 1 week in advance. He emailed me that morning saying that his "guy" couldn't come but that he would try to be there himself. He did not respond to multiple calls after that, only calling me at 8pm saying he had a busy day, but couldn't make it to our place. Only then did he clarify that this "guy" was the one who did the internet and that there was no point for him to come without him. First of all, before confirming the time, he should have confirmed whether the right people could come with him, and secondly, his email on the morning didn't explain that this "guy" was essential to installing our ethernet. So again we were left waiting and wondering.
Our final contact with him was today (June 22). I had called Vic several times the day before to confirm, but did not get any reply. He did text me at 9am today, saying his team member was on his way and would contact us, who never did. Vic's last message to us was at 10:30am when he said he would call me back after his meeting was done. He did not respond to multiple texts and calls afterwards. I gave up trying to reach him at 1pm.
I have had to book time off from work four days in 2021 to wait for him. I will not be booking off a fifth.
We are very frustrated and disappointed with the lack of follow-up, and would definitely not hire Vic again nor recommend him to our family and friends.
