Bathroom Renovation

We hired Apex Construction,or more specifically Alex, who appears to be running a one man company to do a bathroom renovation. He originally claims it will be completed in 14 days. We had to fire him 2 months in, with the project about 3/4 complete.

Also, the work that was complete was done terribly.

Despite the work being incomplete, he had the audacity to request most of the payment.

He also has no respect for your property. I would not hire this "company" to clean your toilets, much less renovate the whole bathroom.

Approximate cost of services:
$7,000.00

Company Response

Good day Iailo,

We appreciate all feedback from our clients as it helps us improve our company and system with every project we take on. We are upset to hear that you had a bad experience with one or more members of our team and we try to resolve every issue that may arise directly with the clients.

In this situation we had completed the job up to one of the agreed milestones in project completion % and also payment scheme. Upon receiving many disrespectful and rude comments from you and your family members, I (Alex), decided to pull not only myself, but Ben and Andrew my other workers from your site upon completion of the bathtub surround tiles and flooring tiles.

This milestone was agreed upon by your mother who we initially had a contract with and who was paying for the services in her house. She is very aware and articulate and had inspected all work completed before paying what was rightfully owed. At this point I was no longer interested in finishing the work for your mother, unfortunately.

We did not receive payment for any work that we did not complete. Based on our system this isn't possible as the payment scheme is set up to follow the labour aspect of a given project. So material cost is received and work is completed and inspected and signed off before labour payment for that aspect of work is received.

With regards to the timing issue, many materials including the vanity that your mother purchased was significantly delayed in being delivered. We were there as soon as we could be for every aspect of the job as it made available to us.

We have dozens and dozens of satisfied customers and rarely come across an issue that can't be resolved with a simple conversation. We do not appreciate false claims of the quality of our work and have many past clients who consistently vouch and refer us for new work.

Thank you and have a nice day
