We recently had Home Air Systems (HAS) install a new vented gas water heater, and were initially very satisfied with their work (10*). However on the following day, we encountered an unforeseen issue that affected our experience.
There was a very significant noise and vibration of approx. 70 db in the family room and kitchen under the floor when the blower was running. The noise and vibration was also louder than usual, due to a resonance (47 hz) in the vent. We initially just thought the problem was caused by the blower, since the assigned part number did not agree with the factory specifications. The manufacturer promptly provided a replacement under the warranty and HAS installed it. The noise and vibration level did not change. HAS returned again to tweak the installation of the vent which did not completely resolve the issue. HAS claimed the issue was with the blower and the manufacturer stated the PVC vent was not installed correctly. We were left with fixing the issue ourselves and their charge was reduced to reflect this. The rating for HAS reflects our mixed experience with their installation and the customer support provided.
