We had water getting into our basement through a gap along our founda during major rainstorms. We had a hard time finding a contractor to seal the gap between our house and driveway, as well as between our foundation and concrete walkway. I was very happy when Kyle said they were able to do both, and quoted a price lower than the other quotes we were able to get.

The worked quickly to clean out the gap, caulk/seal it, and also explained how we can maintain the seal every few years.

We're very happy we were able to get it done to keep out water and the unsightly weeds that make their way into the crack over time.

I hired Action Home Services to help me remove an old wooden deck and install a new stone patio and privacy fences in our backyard. I am very satisfied with AHS for the following reasons:
* cost includes design advisory services
* fair (but not cheap) pricing
* professional and collaborative at all times
* answered all my questions and had no problem with edits or additions to the project along the way
* clearly experienced
* when collecting quotes for the project, AHS was the only contractor to include retaining walls, water drainage as part of their plans

I would not hesitate to hire AHS!

I have hired many contractors over the years, and would not hesitate to hire AHS again.

After a year and a half of searching, dozens and dozens of consults and
a range of pricing from 80-350k, I finally found the strongest team in the province. Seriously, stop wasting your time with anyone else. Renat, John, Other Renat, Kin, and the rest of the team were freaking amazing. I had initially hired an expensive architect to complete an initial rough design only to be walked through all the reasons that, while doable, perhaps a sunken dining area under a tree wouldnt be the most comfortable and easy to clean area once the leaves started to fall.

I trust them completely, and will only ever use them in the future. I now realize how rare it is to find an ethical, reasonably priced organisation like this that can pretty much do anything. They freaking nailed it, and came in under budget.

This is the second time we hired AHS. They are always precise, fast, direct and have a fantastic quality control on what they do. They will always have us as returning customers..

We hired Action Home Services to do the paving of the driveway and interlocking border. After a first contact Kyle came back and discussed with us the job and options. He provided an estimate and kept in contact with us answering any question that we had. The crew from Gold Park Paving removed the old asphalt was, and refill the driveway as needed with gravel, compacted and let settle for some time. While the driveway refill was settling, Max came around and did an excellent work laying down the stones for the interlocking border. Once everything was settled, the crew from Gold Park Paving came back and put a new layer of asphalt with proper leveling … when rains or use the hose waters goes down the middle of the driveway well away from the houses. A very nice job! It was a good experience and the job carried with professionalism.

After our successful backyard project with AHS (please see previous review from my husband), we elected to go with them with the power wash of our driveway and side interlocking. It has been over 5 years since it was power wash and cleaned so it was long overdue. We also had some stones that needed repairing as well.

Price: This was a very fair price for the work that they did. Much better than some of separate items for our backyard.

The leader for the power wash was Dimitriy and he was absolutely amazing. He communicated with us right away and informed us exactly when the wash and repair would start. On day 1 Dimitriy and the rest of the team showed up on time and explained to us exactly what was going to happen. The few stones were repaired right away within the first few hours. The first day all the stones were power washed and the weeds between the stones were all cleared. He then communicated with us that the next day they will be putting the polymeric sand. He told us the exact time and the next time he was punctual with his team and completed the tasks efficiently.

Then due to mother nature him and his team came back a few days later to put the sealer on top. It rained, and Dimitriy explained to us why the sealer cannot be done immediately and had to wait until it was dry.

Once the sealer was placed the project was done.

Dimitriy and his team did an AMAZING job. Driveway and stones look amazing and it was so good that one of our neighbours on our street used them to get their driveway done.

Dimitriy was extremely professional, kind, and communitive with us, so this was extremely easy. It was almost night and day difference between the communication for this project vs our backyard.

I cannot recommend AHS enough for the driveway job. Please request Dimitriy for this and I guarantee you, you will not be disappointed.

We hired Action Home Services to do a concrete patio in our backyard and re-do the asphalt at the side of our house. They did a great job and provided great customer service. I would definitely recommend them.

We had our backyard done this past summer by Action Home Services and we would like to provide some feedback and opportunity for others to read our review. Of note, this is an objective review. My wife and I found AHS through home stars and we were not disappointed.

Our project included a complete renovation of our backyard including:

Demolition:
Removal of all 3 fences
Removal of present interlocking, and currently grass/soil, landscape

New Additions:
New Horizontal Fence
New Composite Deck
New Gas Line for the BBQ
New Electrical for 3 new plugs, 4 stair lights, 4 ground lights, 6 mount lights
1 Patch of grass
Trees, plants around the perimeter of the fence with new soil and mulch
Installation of a Hot Tub (Concrete Pad, hooking up electrical) (Hot tub purchased at Costco)
Small area of interlocking at the entrance

We met with John, the owner of the company around March and he was extremely nice, genuine, and punctual to get an initial quote. He gave his ideas and then we gave our ideas and then he came up with a quote. In regards to quote, we are going to be perfectly honest, it was not cheap. It was roughly around the price we were getting from other companies we found on Homestars. We had to add and remove some things to adjust the price to our budget and then we agreed on the price

We were then connected with Kin (the designer that works with the company) and hands down he is the biggest and best asset of AHS. Kin is extremely personable, passionate, and friendly. He loves what he does and it is evident the first time you meet him. He came up with 2 designs for our backyard and they were ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. His designs will blow you out of the water. We picked one of his designs and he walked us through the whole process when it came to which one to pick (also which one he preferred/recommended) and how to make our backyard not only looking nicer but also doing it in a cost efficient way and also in a practical manner. By no means did we ever feel pressured to pay for more or to add anything, in fact, he helped us save a lot of money with other suggestions.

Our project was supposed to start in the middle of June and unfortunately, it was delayed due to Covid. Materials were delayed and so we didn’t started until July. However, with that being said, one of the areas of constructive criticism is communication. When June came around, we had no idea when we were starting or if it was delayed. No one reached out to us. If it wasn’t for us proactively asking Kin, we would have never knew. To be honest, it was not up to Kin to let us know the start date but either John or our project manager Renat. Kin relayed our message to John and he personally called and apologized and talked us through the whole thing which we greatly appreciated.

Once the project started it was extremely smooth. On the first day, I met the project manager Renat who is an extremely nice guy and professional. My only feedback for him is to work on his communication with the client as sometimes it was hard to get in touch with him

The site leader Alex, worked with his main team of Yuri and Jorge. There were also multiple other team members that came throughout the project , but it was these 3 that were here almost on a daily basis.

Aside from Kin, it was Alex, Yuri and Jorge that made this experience amazing. They were extremely nice, personable, down to earth and even spent time getting to know my family, especially my son who just turned 1. Alex would explain everything at the end of the day (what was done, and what will be the next step) He would also let us know if anything was delayed which was appreciated. This team was extremely hard working and worked 10 to 12 hours a day in the blazing heat. Did not complain. The skill level of this team was AMAZING. Our deck looked like it came out of a magazine and they worked really well with Kin to make the design come to life. The craftsmanship of the work is second to no other. A lot of family and friends who have visited us after have praised the work. I would highly recommend this specific team for anyone who is doing their backyard. They work well together and was just a pleasure to be around.

Of note, the project was slightly delayed in finishing for a few days (3 or 4 days). However, we did not mind as Alex was transparent everyday and communicated with us and it was just a pleasure having them come over and seeing them perfect our backyard.

After the project was done, we wanted to add some minor things and also there were a few things that needed to be fixed (e.g. the gate door was getting caught, and there was rust on the new gas line piece). I informed the team and they came by within 1 or 2 days to fix /replace it immediately. This was great customer service and I really appreciated the promptness of fixing anything we were unhappy with. We also wanted to add a few lights and extra stairs after, and the team came back and did this efficiently as well.

So in conclusion, we know this is a long review. However, it is important to for us to share our unbiased views so that others can read and make an informed decision about their backyard. I definitely recommend this company to anyone interested in getting their backyard done. Again, they are not cheap and you get what you pay for. The designer Kin is again one of the best designers we have ever met and his designs are absolutely amazing. His constant communication with us before, during and after the project shows how passionate he is about his work and connecting with his clients. Having him design your backyard is a must. If you do go with AHS, please request for Alex, Yuri and Jorge as your team as they are what made the few weeks a great experience. Communication was key and their crafstmanship was amazing. I found our about Action Home Services from HomeStars. They had positive reviews and I went to their website. I liked the work they done and different styles.

I just bought a house about a year ago. I have done alot of work on the home and dealt with many contractors for different projects. My experience with Action Home Services has been my best experience to date. They are professional in every sense of the word. They always told me what they were doing, the timelines, always showed up on time and worked very hard. They were very clean. I received 5 visits from neighbours either asking for their contact name and number or commenting on what a great job they did cleaning and making sure their equipment / product was not blocking their access. They had great ideas and solutions if we needed to change course because of home. I would definitely recommend them to anyone and I wil use them again when time to replace the other side of the fence.

Was really happy with the overall experience . Max , the project manager, came on time to see what needed to be done and gave a Firm price quote , the job was scheduled and done on the scheduled day , the guys who did the job were very really friendly and helpful . They did a great job and they cleaned up the area before they left . I am glad that I used them to do the job , will use them again if needed.

I had contacted other contractors to do the job , they either did not come to give a firm price quote or gave a unacceptably high quote , possibly because it was too small a job for them
