Poor workmanship

We had Consumer's Choice redo bathrooms, install new floors, update trim, paint, and build a fireplace mantle. Everything looks OK at first glance, but when you give it a closer look you see evidence of slapdash work, like tiles that aren't level or cut to the same length at edges and gaps where new floor meets trim. And there was basic finishing work that we had to ask for (and much that wasn't done), like putting sealant around tubs and bathroom counters they'd installed.

Biggest issues: a few weeks after finishing the job, large pieces of grout stated breaking between floor tiles, becoming loose and popping out. Consumer's Choice came back five times (yes, FIVE) to try to fix this. Last time here they removed and replaced the grout on floors in two rooms. But in removing the grout they also ground down the sides of several of the tiles. Our new floor looks like it's decades old. Also, the fireplace they built for us is falling apart; the horizontal mantle is separating from the vertical posts. Consumer's Choice has been back twice to fix that, and it's still separating.

If you want quality workmanship that shows attention to detail, don't hire Consumer's Choice.
