I contacted Lake Simcoe Heating and Air Conditioning for a quote to relocate my hot water tank to open up the floor plan when I came to finishing the basement. They gave me a rough cost to move the existing one ($500-$600 from what I recall), and asked details on my current water tank as it may be eligible for replacement. It turns out it was, and if I rented the new tank through Lake Simcoe Heating and Air conditioning there would be no charge to install the tank where I requested. The monthly fee was slightly higher ($1 or $2), but it was well worth it. They also returned the old tank and completed all paperwork.
