New Home Build

Fantastic Beaumont sales team (Kelly Smith and Trina Scott). Only down side of the entire project was the length of build (some 18 months) and a lack of communication as to why the build was taking so long. Possession was smooth and well organized. At this point in time there are still some minor issues still to be completed. Build quality and finishing of my home seem to be very good.

New Home Build

Pacesetter Rocks!!! My wife and I are currently building our second home with Pacesetter.

The first home we built with them went so well and with all the horror stories we heard about other builders we couldn't imagine building with anyone else.

The sales person Michele and her assistant Rebecca were awesome to deal with. They made sure everything we talked about was in writing. Whenever we had a question they answered us right away and explained things so we could understand.

We would definitely refer our friends and family to Pacesetter Homes in future and we will tell them to go see Michele Anstead for sure.

HOME BUILDING

Avoid AVOID AVOID ! Really Bad builder to work with, they will only care to get your money and then will not work with you if you had a major life situation.
They will get you in the legal contract and even if they can help you with anything they will not do it just to avoid extra work on their side.

The main office when you contact them THEY DONT ANSWER YOU AT ALL if you have a problem. They only want as much money they can get from you and will give you hard time even tracking the build process.

If you try to contact main office they will not answer you. They send a reply with their sales rep saying that they will not answer and that you need to continue the build. Seriously Main office said to the Sales Rep to tell me that SHE WILL NOT ANSWER.

They push for you to go do financing with guys affiliated with them and they give other lenders a hard time. The Lender is super rude and they do make rude comments and no repercussion to them when you complain about lender. They only give you discount of free legal fees if you work with their affiliated rude lenders. When you go your own way they don't give all the information other lenders need and you will pay the administration fees. DONT BE FOOLED GET A LAWYER BEFORE AND AFTER THE SIGNING THE CONTRACT!

They drag you in the build process and they don't really promise you anything about completion date.

They will not work with you or send you update about the build since build started and they only send building update once.

Updates are something you can only dream off with them, if you got some problem, Well bad luck they've got you in a legal contract and too bad for you and you are not getting any money from them. Seriously guys AVOID! AVOID AVOID!

New Home Build

The worst home buying experience. Should have done more research and read all the negative reviews here. Nobody ever gets back to you, broken promises and deadlines. Zero customer service after you sign, as I said they dont call you back, you have to drive out to them to get some answers and more broken promises, Never again will I go with Pacestter. I won't recommend them to my worst enemy.

Lane home

I should know this website before I bought my home with Pacesetter! All my experience with them is horrible. Sales was extremely hard to reach and never called back. I have to call again and again to get my walk through arranged. My whole house was built in a rush with lots of deficiencies. I had my deck nailer 9 MONTHS AFTER POSSESSION DAY! My rough grading failed 3 times already and I have to wait until next year to get my landscaping done. My garage pad was laid too low and the slope was directing water into the garage as it's supposed to get the water out. I can't have my garage done because of this. They say their concrete contractor is too busy to fix my problem and ask me to expect to wait until next year! After all, every time when I contacted them, they either just ignore or say it would be done, but it's so hard to just get a simple thing done. It feels like they don't care about the customer at all and they just want to get the money and walk away. My neighbors complained to me about their service as well. For my story and the stories I heard, I would definitely tell people I know to stay away from them! p.s. I just found there is a website called pacesettersucks.com

Company Response

Good Morning, thank you for providing your feedback on your experience with Pacesetter Homes. We have definitely had issues with our grading company and we have taken action with them already. Your expectations with what happens at possession and afterwards including ongoing seasonal and exterior work were not set clearly, so we can understand your frustration. Please inform us of your experience in detail with your job number and address so that we can ensure the parties involved are aware of the improvements that need to be made at PacesetterSales@qualico.com.

Please note that the website pacesettersucks.com does not refer to Pacesetter Homes Ltd in Edmonton and is representative of a company called Pacesetter Corp based out of the USA.

Home Build

This builder is really bad. I bought their duplex in south location around 2 years ago. I was in a rush of buying a new home because I was about to have a baby. When I bought the duplex, they told me it would be exactly like the show home. But it was not at all. They changed everything to the cheapest. They spent 1year and half to finish the landscaping, I had to keep calling the city and their contractor to force them finish it. And till today, they haven't finished my one year repair yet. During the time I live in this new home, it make me feel worse and worse. Everything is broken and falling apart. I will advise everyone to not buy their home even the company related to them.

Company Response

Hello Nan Zhang,
We are sorry to hear about the less than positive experience you had with buying a home with us. We are making it a priority that our sales team is educated with show home upgrades and managing expectations at the forefront when new customers are buying a home including landscaping delays as they are actually quite common but without that knowledge at the beginning, of course we understand your disappointment.

We would be happy to look into your warranty if you could email pacesettersales@qualico.com with your job number. Thank you for your feedback towards our customer service improvement.

Land revision

Well, I should a read the reviews prior to build with PACESETTER HOMES in Summerwood, Sherwood Park. Just drove around the lot we are building on and they've decided to put a 2 meter swale on the property. I'm losing about 750 sq.ft. of my backyard and I will have to look at a nice piece of concrete. But hey!... nothing they can do about it. If I only knew that I'll have a concrete swale on my lot (not on the plan) I would never pick that lot. THANKS PACESETTER!!!

Affirmed Home in Beaumont

I bought a "in construction" Affirmed unit back in Nov 2013 from Deb. She was very helpful throughout the sales process. Afterwards I dealt with Kelly in Beaumont and he was awesome to deal with. Always answered my questions in a timely manner. Overall very satisfied with the sales side.

I have lived in the house for about a month now and I have dealt with Mason and Denny (supervisors) and they have been awesome to deal with. 10 out of 10. Any issues I have had they have fixed IMMEDIATELY. They are both very knowledgeable with and very professional.

The house is very well built and well done for its price (beginner home). I have not had any issues at all (1 month since possession).

My only issue with Pacesetter was that the show home did not fully reflect the finished product. There were a few differences (mostly lighting fixtures and cabinets).

Overall I am very satisfied with my purchase.

New home

Nothing in the world is perfect, neither is Pacesetter, But they make up for it in follow ups and after sales response. The sales team was ok and flexible, but some things were not explained very clearly; and there were lot of back and forth with the missed paperwork, and inflexibility with any changes after the blueprint. The quality of the finished house was more than satisfactory, and the area supervisor(Thomas) was very prompt with his responses. The basement looks little sloppy, but we are satisfied with the overall construction. There are other builders out there who would totally wash your hands off after you have signed on the dotted line; but not pacesetter, After listening to some horrible experiences of my acquaintances who used other builders, I would definitely recommend Pacesetter Homes who are offer an overall decent product for a decent price.
