Fix Appliances Ca

I called Fix Appliance and a service person (Daniel) came to my house.
My fridge is a GE profile and the compresor was not working/ the fridge and freezer was warm. He check the main control board for power and said I need a new board and quoted me $485 not with labour total $885. and asked for a deposite of $150 for the part on the spot and it will take 3-4 weeks. After he left I found the part for $208 a GE part so I called and asked them for a refund of the deposite, THEY SAID NO. I now have the part I installed it and the fridge didn't work. I google the issue and its the control board for the compressor. The proper test should have been to follow the power flow from main control board to the compressor board of the fridge. The compressor board is a $85 dollar part. So I guess I would have paid $885 for the wrong part and waited for another part with a inflated price and install. My fridge new is $2600. without tax.
