Outstanding Duct Repair and Seal Service

Used Viktor and team to assess and repair my duct work, as well as seal and balance the ducts in my house. The team was thorough, on point and communicated everything to me.

They uncovered a duct pipe break in my basement which was repaired to help improve the air flow.

I'm astonished by the improvement in air flow and cooling in my house after the work was done. It was really night and day difference. Certain rooms which had limited vent airflow improved dramatically. The house generally cools much faster and have used much less hydro this summer as a result from the AC

I highly recommend every home owner pay for this service. My house was only 11 years old and the difference in airflow was significantly improved.

Duct Sealing - Fantastic Job and Worth Every Penny

We recently moved into our home which was renovated in the early 1990s. We noticed a significant gradient in our heating. Our basement was cold an unpleasant (more so than any basement I have lived in) while our third floor was too hot and main floor somewhere in the middle but still uncomfortable. I noticed most of the basement registers had zero appreciable airflow and the main floor registers had some but not very strong airflow. To add to the matter, our home had a furnace in the attic and the attic (not renovated) felt like a sauna. Probably a large amount of leakage in the attic alone...

After some research, I came across Aeroseal and spoke with Victor. Victor was a pleasure to work with. His preliminary assessment was similar to my own, and I was willing to try sealing the ducts to see if there was improvement.

We had a moderate amount of leakage and luckily no disconnected ducts. After the sealing and balancing, there was a noticeable difference in the basement and main floor with smaller and more expected temperature differences between the basement, main floor and 2nd floor. The basement is now a livable space. Most importantly, the attic doesn't feel like a sauna and I'm confident my furnace isn't working overtime and heating my attic for no reason.

Victor was a pleasure to work with.

The job was completed by Yuri and another Victor both of whom were very professional and courteous. I suspect working in a small unfinished attic was one of their tougher jobs but they certainly got it done and what a great job.

I also had one register that was half enclosed by custom crown mouldings. Yuri and Victor were very mindful of this, and cut my moulding just enough to remove the register and spent time patching it up for me so it looked presentable. I was quite pleased with their service.

Overall highly recommended

Aeroseal

We bought our house few years ago and love it, except for the cold/hot upstairs. We were told by several companies that nothing could be done, it’s the layout of the house. But my neighbor down the street was getting Aeroseal done, so we asked about the service. In fact, before we contacted Aeroseal we went into the house that was just serviced and the neighbor could not have said any more praise. So we know have had our house done. We are pleased with the now airflow we have upstairs, there no longer is a change in temperature as you transverse the stairs.

Found two disconnected ducts, great outcome.

Victor was a pleasure to work with. He did a full explanation of the process up front and took his time answering all of our questions. We found two disconnected ducts in this process (one the builder forgot to connect to the supply, according to the drawings). You can tell Victor cares about his business and work. I was surprised to see so many positive reviews of a company on here. We achieved balancing and more CFM in colder rooms. Thank you.

Wow it really works!

We had our attic reinsulated and it seemed to maintain the temperature in the house overall except for one bedroom in the front of the house which has a large bay window. I looked into Aeroseal and saw some really great reviews but was still skeptical. I called around for a few quotes and Victor from Aeroseal Tech actually came over to give a very detailed onsite quote. His knowledge and explanation of possible issues made me feel confident that it would resolve the issue so I decided to book.

His guys arrived on time during the scheduled date of install and quickly went to work. They were as detailed as Victor and pleasant too. The job setup, airflow/heat check, pressure test, Aeroseal process and balancing took a little over 4 hours and the results were fantastic!

We got a report that showed we had almost a 40% CFM leakage throughout the HVAC that would seep into the wall cavities and were escaping from holes in the airducts that did not have a full seal. This is after I tried to seal any visible and accessible HVAC holes and seals with aluminum HVAC tape. My basement is finished so I could only seal what was in my furnace and storage room. I was losing about 275 refrigerator sized air units per hour!

After Victor and his team applied the Aeroseal product, within half an hour the 40% leakage dropped to 0.5% CFM! They also rebalanced all the dampers and vents to ensure the whole house is the same temperature no matter where you are, basement or the warmest/coldest room in the house. It has been 48 hours since the job was done and I can confirm that the one cold room is now warm like the other rooms/floors. This is the best investment for heating/cooling ever.

Victor and his team stand by their work and are always letting you know that you can call them for any questions/concerns. I cannot recommend them enough. Thanks Victor and team!

Duct sealing throughout house

We were thrilled with the work for many reasons. We live in an older house and for years we found some rooms were too cold in the winter and two hot in the summer. Before we hired Aeroseal, they explained that if they find some leaks during their investigation, they would have to open the area and charge $50 extra to open, repair, and close the area of each defective duct. They stuck to their estimated cost even though their work took more hours than they thought it would take. They arrived on time, following the covid protocols, and worked quickly and efficiently with their computerized equipment. They transformed our "house into a home" because now there is a fabulous balance of warmth throughout every single room! We can walk, eat, work sleep day and night in comfort.

Sealing and balancing

Had bought a four level backsplit in 2016, and always had trouble with one room in particular just not getting airflow. Called victor and he came to assess the situation, showed me with the thermal camera where the air was leaking. His crew came a couple of weeks later and found several large holes in the ductwork. After they were done, the ducts were 99.9 sealed and after balancing, all the upstairs rooms had triple the airflow from before. The house is so much more comfortable now. Thanks to Victor and his whole team.

Duct sealing and repair

I have had issues with the temperature in my home since I moved in almost 7 years ago. The upstairs (master bedroom and ensuite bath in particular) was much cooler in winter and warmer in summer then the main floor. The people I hire to clean the furnace would say that it is just the way it is, try closing some vents in basement (that was useless) or get a blower for the duct to push more air upstairs (expensive and rarely works). More than a year ago at my last furnace cleaning a different serviceman actually took the time to look more closely at my HVAC system and determined that the duct to upstairs bath was not even connected. He had trouble finding where it ended in basement. But that explained why no air would come through the duct. But that company does not deal with ductwork so I had to find someone who does.

So I did some research on HomeStars and found Aeroseal Tech. I was skeptical only because I had never seen so many 10 star reviews for one company without a negative one. I called and spoke to Victor to explain the situation. He came to my home to do an inspection and recommended the sealing process to seal the gaps and holes in the duct work and modify the ducts to maximize the air flow using their diagnostic tools. Victor is courteous and knowledgeable and takes the time to explain what they do and answer all questions. In addition, he discovered the duct that leads to ensuite bath in basement that was left unattached by the builders. He gave me a quote for the sealing and the duct repair and I accepted. Within a few weeks he and his crew came and did the job and repaired the ensuite duct in basement by attaching a new pipe to the main duct.

Overall I am very happy with the work. My upstairs has been considerably warmer in winter and cooler in summer and much closer in temperature to the main floor. Particularly in the master bedroom and ensuite bath. One reason I waited about 8 months to write my review is because I wanted to go through a winter and summer cycle to see if it actually made a difference and yes it did. Moreover, I wanted to see if it would make a difference in my gas and electric usage bill. I did notice a slight savings.

I'm deducting one star for this reason: the cost. It did seem a bit high as I have an average sized 3 bedroom townhome. It was a fair price to repair the duct. And that was what made the biggest difference in that bathroom. The job takes his team less than a day to complete and there are not a lot of materials involved. The cost for the sealing of the ducts and adjusting the flow to maximize airflow is entirely for comfort and it is unlikely you could recoup those savings through energy costs unless you live in your home for decades. This is mainly about making your home more comfortable. So if your home has air flow issues and you have the money to spend, and you want a more comfortable home then I would certainly recommend Aeroseal Tech.

We deliver and over deliver promised results without any financial surprises. It's unfortunate that you've decided to deduct a star for something you were well aware off upon hiring us.

Aeroseal Duct Sealing is a patented breakthrough technology that tackles leaks from the inside out. Aeroseal software allows the technician to accurately measure the duct leakage in residential homes and commercial buildings. The Aeroseal process puts escaping air under pressure and causes polymer particles to stick first to the edges of a leak, then to each other until the leak is closed.

The technology was developed within the Indoor Environment Program at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, whose IAQ scientists tested it. The research was funded by US Environmental protection agency, US dept. of Energy, Electric Power Research Institute and California Institute of Energy and Environment.

The University of California was granted initial patents in 1996 and 1999, and Aeroseal holds an exclusive license to the technology.
