Fabulous

I hired Calvick about twenty years ago when I lived in East York and the company sent three fella's to move items from my two bedroom apartment to a house in Toronto.

All three arrived promptly. One was a Rastafarian, another had a bum leg which made me wonder if he could effectively do the job and the third was average fella. All of them were gracious and polite. All items were taken care of, nothing got busted but what intrigued me about them was their style. Any reasonable person could tell right off the bat that those guys were talented in moving. The Rastafarian fella was thin and slight and if only I had taken a video of him grabbing a hold of my pink lazy boy chair and flipping it up onto his shoulder and walking straight out of the apartment and onto the truck. That feat was totally amazing and I never forgot it.

I found out that I didn't need to worry about the fella with the bum leg. He too was thin and his movements were swift. He could carry five heavy cardboard boxes, stacked on top of each other all at once. I stood in amazement watching and wondering how he did that. The third fella took lead and moved my vanity, bed frame, dresser with his co-workers and with ease. In three hours the truck was packed and off we went to the new address. It was a full day's work and I didn't see any of them take a break while on my time or even request to use my bathroom so towards the end of the job we stopped and picked up some food and shared these foot long hot dogs and Cokes with them and they were so thankful to us. They under charged us and asked for $600 and we told them it should be $700 and they came up to $650 instead. We tipped them as they totally deserved it.

Also important to note is you can get insurance if in case something gets damaged along the way.
We also had the truck packed to capacity and it ended up at the end of the day that we would not be able to fit one couch into the house. Calvick had the ability to bring it to their office location to dispose of it. That was then and I do not believe that would be the case today.

You know the old saying "don't judge a book by its cover", all I am saying is in this industry you need to realize that movers come in all shapes and sizes and with first impressions I wondered too if those fellas were going to be able to do their job. Indeed they did and with memories I have not forgotten. Also moving companies do face difficulties caused by the recipient requesting their services so do realize that everything depends on YOUR instructions so make sure you hire the right sized vehicle for your move. Most people order the wrong sized truck and do so thinking they will save money. Don't be a cheap fool. Ask questions when you call and get all the facts. Ask about truck size and what they recommend. Ask about workers and how many are needed. Ask about hours and what time they are to arrive and for goodness sake write those answers down and look forward to their service. Pay them what they are owed and yes I have heard of movers slapping liens on your house for not paying up.

By the way I am hiring Calvick again some 22 years later for another move!
