Complete House Make over (Fascia, Eavesthrough and Hardie Board Siding)

I was looking for a company to do a complete exterior make over (siding, fascia, eavesthrough, leaf guards, stone work). I found Exterior makeover on Kijji and because they did it all I decided to call for an estimate. it all sounded good however i should have thought twice because his web site was still under construction and pics on his web site looked like images pulled from a template gallery and not a true representation of his work... This should have been the first red flag . .. Nevertheless I went with him because i wanted the work done thus taking a big chance...Big regret!. Other than the stone work, the workman ship on everything else was terrible.
In fact after they finished the job (2 days later we had a rain fall) and I started getting major leaking off the roof and down the wall into the house. I sent him images/videos and he sent the eavestrough guy who blamed the siding guy. In the end, nothing was done and despite reaching out to him for 4 weeks - he never bothered to return my calls or emails. I was furious...not to mention other parts of the work was brutal - they removed exhaust vents on the exterior of the house and never put them back in, caulking around windows was a mess, eavesthrough's were not leveled properly creating drainage issues, leaf guards were installed with only 1 screw, screws/aluminum was left on the roof, and in many parts they did not put leaf guard or it overlapped by 6 inches....Chris is the sales guy and subcontracts work...he wasn't there for most of the work and only showed up to collect the cash. In the end, I had 3 reputable roofing companies come out and look at the job - they confirmed what i already knew - they told me that this is the worst job and cheapest use of materials they have ever seen. In the end i had to pay one of these contractors to rip out parts of the eavesthrough, properly reinstal with a proper slope, re-install the leaf guard and vent and fix that leaking issue..the new contractor felt bad for me and agreed to fix these issues at a reduced price. i plan on taking Chris and his company to small claims court to recoup some of what I paid him as well as the cost of hiring someone else to fix his poor workmanship. I learned a valuable lesson - Trust your initial instinct and beware of fly by the night contractors with flashy websites..
