AC install

My experience with Jamison was stellar - Jeff (sales) was sincere, knowledgable, and responsive - basically I got a same day visit for a quote that wasn't rushed, and didn't feel like I was being smooth talked into things I didn't need by a typical "salesman". I was then able to get a quick install, despite the company's busy schedule. The install team was friendly, professional, and did great work - they left a clean worksite and performed a beautiful install. Jeff did an amazing follow up visit to ensure that everything was working perfectly. He even attended to and adjusted things outside the scope of his work without charge. I have dealt with many many trades in the past year building my new home, and I also had a new AC unit installed a short time ago in a previous home, and I can without hesitation say that this was the best experience I have had with an HVAC company - and with any trade for that matter. I would happily recommend them to any of my friends or family. Oh, and the AC works magnificently! I can't thank them enough.

Damage left by Tenants

My daughter's rental townhouse was deliberately and maliciously damaged by tenants. My daughter is currently in Afganistan working for the United Nations. The story was broadcasted on CTV news and Jamison's Furnace offered to repair the damages. Three men with huge hearts attended at the townhouse to inspect the electrical, furnace and to repair the damaged plumbing. They went above and beyond their call of duty replacing pipes that were incorrectly installed by these tenants. I have nothing but respect for this company. The onwer Curt is a great guy. He really does care. Everything is working as it should be because of Jamison Furnace. THANK YOU!!!!

The pleasure was all ours Cyndie. I still can't understand what the tenants were thinking, wrecking what they could as they moved out; "it takes all kinds", I suppose. Regardless, we felt you and Madison needed "rescuing", and we like wearing our "super-hero capes". Curt Jamison, President

Furnace and A/C replacement

My place was flooded in June, 2013 and Jamison Furnace was exceptional in putting my mechanical back together, including repairing several quality issues created by the initial flood response company. Curt Jamison and his team throughout were professional, responsive, met all their commitments and found innovative solutions along the way - very rare in my experience over the past 10 months of rebuild. Joshua diagnosed a complex issue with my furnace, finding the flood response company had installed too large a furnace for the sq ft and ducting size, burning itself out and being a safety issue. While I was heating my place with its 2 gas fireplaces at -25C, the Jamison team quickly got a new furnace, well priced and sized, carefully installed, and returned my place to warmth and safety. On the A/C side, Curt diagnosed ducting issues as the source of not enough air conditioning from the previous A/C and did not up-sell a larger unit unnecessarily. An intermittent squeak was diagnosed quickly by Joshua from a mp3 sound file I sent him, then repaired in short order (a damaged damper in the construction process). Throughout these 10 months and several different issues needing your help, Curt, your team and yourself have brought value beyond just the 'fixing of issues' - you are a true professional with integrity who has brought me peace of mind and confidence in my home. Any future mechanical work will be done by your team. I am deeply grateful.

We've had such pleasure in serving you over the past year or so Gloria, for many reasons. Your appreciation of and desire for quality craftsmanship, industry leading value, and exemplary customer service makes you our ideal type. That's what our team is naturally inclined to do, and what we do best. No thanks necessary, as good work is it's own reward, but we appreciate the kind words. Curt Jamison, President

Furnace emergency and replacement

A component of our furnace gave during the cold snap in March 2014. Was recommended by my General Contractor friend to Jamison furnace. He came on a Saturday in a very short time frame, when he said he would be there. Curt was the one who came, was very professional and quickly diagnosed to the problem and offered options. We opted for furnace replacement and he provided us with an option that allow us to hold out until a replacement could be done during regular hours, saving us some money. Got a few quotes but went with him as we liked his level of service, technical knowledge in the emergency visit. Furnace was replaced and issues remedied in a very timely fashion. Curt and his team are very knowledgeable. They are able to explain technical details in terms a non tradesperson can understand. They provided options that I could choose from based on my needs. Service was excellent. Curt answered any and all followup questions no matter how many and how ridiculous, through whatever means of communication I was comfortable with. His responses were all timely. I wanted to install a Nest thermostat myself after the furnace was replaced - he provided his opinion and a TON of support to allowed me to do the job mayself as I had to run additional wires and make the humidifier work with it. He is a self proclaimed 'geek' who was able to provide appropriate level answers that I could understand to my very detailed questions. He even draw out a wiring diagram to help me install that thermostat myself. He could have easily said it would be better for me to pay him to do it - but he knew my situation and was willing to provide the necessary support. If you're looking for high quality work and excellent service, talk to the folks at Jamison Furnace.

Thanks for the feedback Don. We know we do excellent work with exemplary customer service, but it's always nice to hear that sentiment echoed by the clients we've served. As far as technical instructions and wiring diagram to enable you to install your Nest thermostat yourself, that was as much for me as it was for you; I'm such a nerd for my industry that I truly enjoy drafting wiring diagrams, the more complicated the better, so thanks for giving me an opportunity to "play" in my industry. furnace repair

On March 4, 2014 about 2:30 AM I woke up because the house was cold. The thermostat was showing 10. I called the sticker on the front of my furnace and a very impolite lady told me that this was an emergency line and to call back after 8. I was referred to Curt by my spouse's employer. He showed up when he said he would, was very thorough and noted some errors that were made when the furnace was installed by previous owners which could have voided my house insurance. Great customer service, definitely a referral I will pass on.

Thank you for the opportunity to serve you and you husband Christine. I still can't believe the original furnace installers would tell you "this is an emergency line, call back when we're open"; a broken furnace when it's -30 is an emergency! I'm glad we could help you folks out and look forward to serving you again in the future. Curt Jamison, President

Furnace issues

On the afternoon of March 1, 2014, I arrived home after being out running morning errands and the house felt cold. Calgary was in another cold snap and the temperature outside was minus 25 degrees and I noticed my furnace wasn't working. The temperature which is normally 23 degrees was below 18 and dropping. I called Curt from Jamison Furnace, getting his voice mail. Curt called me back within 10 minutes and helped me troubleshoot the problem over the phone, diagnosing the problem and coming up with a solution.

Curt even offered to drop by my home with the needed fuse for my furnace if I was unable to locate one within the hour. This was not necessary, however, the gesture did not go unnoticed. The fact that he provided phone advice for a simple problem as opposed to attending & charging for a service call, speaks volumes to his character and integrity.

I will refer Curt to anyone I know needing heating & plumbing services and will definitely use his services for my family's needs in the future.

Thank you Curt!

Sincerely,
Eric & Dawn Charest

Kind words indeed, and I'm glad we had the opportunity to earn your praise! Despite protests from our accountant, who would like to see us raking in profits hand over fist, we can't possibly justify charging clients our minimum service call charge for something that takes 2 minutes and costs $0.25 when we can just as easily save their wallets by advising them on how you can solve simple furnace problems themselves in minutes. Furnace Repair

I called Curt (as advised by a friend) to get another opinion on our furnace as I was advised by another to replace it - Fast! Curt came over and reviewed all and quickly put me at ease!! Curt was so honest, and helpful, and a complete gem...plus, a lifesaver from the untruths we were fed from another Furnace Company. Curt told us the truth and backed it up with facts. He also proved it with his equipment! He proved we didnt need to do ANYTHING. We were fine and to not accept what another company had said! WOW. I saved $5,000!! Curt Jamision is the ONLY company we will use FOREVER! For our furnace, air conditioner, water tank, and I am so proud to have him as part of our Team in keeping our home SAFE! And to all those reading this, PLEASE, take to heart the sincerity of this recommendation. He was truly a Gem and I would trust him with everything. THANK YOU! Colleen

Aww Colleen, you are too kind, and I'm fairly certain I blushed reading your review. It's feedback like this that keeps me passionate about our business and our industry. Most people need to have jobs to pay the bills, and we at Jamison Furnace are no different, but it's the ability to earn a living helping people that makes it so easy to put our heart and soul into our work. Hi Curt,

How are you doing? It’s pretty slow today and I killed some time looking at our customers’ websites. I think I checked your page out before, but today it’s under construction…

Then, however, I saw the link to your HomeStars page and the reviews about your company and service were amazing. Actually, knowing you personally, I didn’t expect anything else, but it’s still awesome. Keep up the good work and all the best for you and your business!

Thanks Andre! It's great to get that feedback from someone who knows our company in a different capacity than our clients do. Emergency Repair

During the cold snap in December 2013 our furnace stopped working and we did not notice until 10pm. After searching homestars and making phone calls to many places with no answers I got through to Jamison's. They were able to make it to my home within 45min in a storm! The gentleman was professional, explained what he was doing to my husband so that if the issue happened in the future we would know what to look at and possibly fix ourselves. He was able to fix the issue within 20min and took the time to look over all the other parts to ensure we wouldn’t have any future concerns. We were thankful someone could help us out at such a late time in the evening so the price of $250.00 plus tax was well worth it. Will be using them again in the future.

Thanks for the kind words Rachelle. It's our pleasure to jump to serve your needs and rush over in late-night blizzards, and we try to provide our clients with a little education and insight on their mechanical systems so they're more comfortable with them for the future. Considering our minimum service call charge includes one hour of the technician's time, we try to spend a little extra time inspecting the furnace on the calls we're able to handle in well under that one hour to help provide our clients with as much value in our service as possible. I had Jason from Jamison Furnace out to my home in December of 2013 because my furnace was making a squealing sound. While he was there the furnace wouldn't make the sound, and he informed me that the most likely cause of the noise was one of the furnace's two motors, considering when I was hearing the furnace make the noise. I decided against having Jason replace the motor that day, but called back a week later after I changed my mind. Shortly after the new motor was installed, the noise was back, and Jason came back out to find out why; it turned out that the noise wasn't coming from the furnace at all, but rather from another piece of equipment near the furnace. I wasn't happy about having paid for a furnace motor that it turned out I hadn't needed, and they told me that they weren't happy if I wasn't, and refunded me the entire cost of the motor! I recommend Jamison Furnace to my friends and family, because they do everything they can to make sure you're satisfied.

That's absolutely right Mary Jane, we're committed to "wowing" every client. Our mission is to serve our clients' needs to the best of our ability in every way we can, and to that end we focus on their needs, not our bottom line. With that in mind, we most certainly aren't happy until our clients are. Curt Jamison, President

BRANDS
We use Goodman brand equipment as our house brand for furnaces and air conditioners, and Sterling for our garage heaters, as we've found these brands to exceed our high standards for product quality, product support, and price point, thus in our eyes providing the most value for our clients. It's worth noting that while there are about 30 equipment brand names in the North American residential heating and cooling market, these 30 brands are being owned and produced by 6 corporations, creating an illusion of choice for consumers, as opposed to true choice. These days, purchasing a brand with brand recognition buys you that alone, as the major brands who earned a quality reputation over the second half of the last century have been simply coasting on that reputation for the past 20+ years, as opposed to actually living up to it.
