For more than 5 years we had been considering changing the fireplace from a wood to a gas unit. Seemed like such an enormous undertaking. But we decided this was the year to get it done. After some research, we contacted Fireplace West. Robin is very experienced and informed about all aspects of the fireplace business. He came to meet with us and was able to provide the reassurance we needed to be less intimidated by the process. He also pointed out that this was indeed the right thing to do – not only from the convenience of use perspective but also the consideration that our old unit was quite outdated relative to new regulations on wood burning appliances.
Robin and Connor arrived as scheduled on the Monday morning. All the appropriate protection for floor and furniture was put in place and they went to work dismantling and removing the old fireplace and prepping for the new unit. By afternoon on that first day, the new unit was already sitting in place.
The hook ups were done the following day and Dana was added to team as the framing and levelling around the unit continued.
On Wednesday morning Dana installed the ceramic tile - beautiful finishing job! By Wednesday afternoon Robin introduced us to our beautiful new fireplace. We just love it!
