Improperly installed water heater and furnace

Furnace, water heater, and furnace/water heater drain pan/line installed.

Overall opinion; small company, not properly educated (uses wrong parts), doesn’t have quality control (improper install, tell client one thing and do another)… I wouldnt recommend these guys because they won’t be able to catch you if they make a mistake because they are a small shop. Not reliable.

Water heater was installed using the incorrect fittings, and within one year corrosion formed around the fitting. 4 or so years later the corrosion is built up. I asked flash about it and they said it was no big deal. Another company took a look and said it was result of installer using incorrect parts.

Had drain pan installed for hot water tank and furnace drain, but it wasn’t done right and a week after install it looked like the water heater had leaked but in fact it was the drain from the furnace backing up into the drain pan of the water tank. Drain pan, drain line, furnace and water tank were all installed new by the installer, but obviously incorrectly. He made multiple trips back to figure out what was wrong, first time just to look, second time forgot tools. Fast forward 1-2 years finally came back and fixed it, it turns out simply the drain pipe wasn’t graded properly, so the drain was dumping into the water tank pan. 10 minute fix and it was done, 2+ years later.

Furnace vent I think was installed incorrectly, I was told during install the grade of pipe is important because it will prevent icicles, but there are big icicles hanging off of it.

The furnace vent I was told at time of install would be covered by a plastic plate and it would be flush and look good, it was left unfinished, no plate, with a ugly caulking job around the pipe. I asked about this and was told “oh people usually do that themselves”. Seems like bad communication / lack of accountability.

Approximate cost of services:
