Pogos Plumbing No Longer In Business

We've been using this company for duct cleaning for many years, they are professional and very skillful. We recently use their service, no complain about the works but in terms of the appointment time, we were told we have three hours window but they called and told us they were coming in 30 mins.

Sterling and Alex were punctual and knowledgeable. I would recommend this service. Price was reasonable. I was also able to get new filters for next time and the vents were sanitized.

We scheduled to get our ducts/furnace cleaned. Duct/furnace cleaning staff were friendly and on-time. But that's about all that went well. During the cleaning my wife heard swearing and a lot of banging from the cleaner in the furnace room. Once cleaning was done they told us they had broken the thermo cupler in the furnace but would send a tech to fix it right away free of charge. So we paid the cleaning bill and the tech came, the tech then said in addition to the thermo coupler the gas valve was also broken but that they only broke the thermo coupler not the gas valve so we would have to pay for the gas valve fix. A quick fact check here, the furnace was working and gas valve was not broken prior to the cleaning. So apparently the gas valve magically broke from the time they finished the cleaning and when the tech showed up. The repair bill was $450 for the gas valve. I called to dispute this and they said they would talk to the tech and get back to me with how much I owed. Moments later they talked to my wife and told her she had to pay the full amount of the gas valve fix immediately or else the tech would remove the gas valve from the furnace, this was not an option as it was the middle of February and we had a 12 week old baby in the house so could not go without a furnace. Stay away people, stay far far away!!!

UPDATE: I am happy to report that with further negoatiations Alberta Furnace Cleaning has refunded us the $450 repair cost. It was a bit of a striggle but in the end I believe they did the right thing.

these guys did an excellent job. They did not over charge, and my furnace has been working even better since they came by! They were professional, and did come to my residence at the time they said they would be there. Very good and reputable company!

The person who came to the house was prompt and friendly, but left a bit of a mess. He ripped off the tape around the duct and did not offer to help us re-tape it. It was a cold day and we couldn't figure out why after he left the furnace was not running. We found out, after waiting for hours for them to send another service person, that the furnace was not turned back on. Sloppy job, not impressed.

On 7/21, we had furnace cleaning, and then after they are gone there was no hot water comes out. I noticed it on Friday night, and they did not fix it until Sunday. The hot water tank's fire went out because they cleaned the furnace.It was working perfectly until Friday morning. My complain is they did not check the hot water tank's fire after they cleaned chimney because the fire go out automatically if the new air comes in. They should have known this as professional. If they call the technician right after they cleaned the furnace I did not have to wait for 2 days without hot water shower, and I did not have to pay the weekend labour fee which is much higher than weekdays labour fee. I talked with the manager about it, he said " It(the fire) was working when they leave. The fire went out after they left." I had doubt what he said. Then I talked to with the water heating company technician asked about it "Is it possible the fire goes out slowly after the cleaning?" He told me "If the fire go out, it blow out right away and not like after they left" Therefore, what the manager told me is not correct. I would suspect that " Their cleaners did not check if the fire went out." that is also their(alberta home service) technician was told me exactly.

Alberta Furnace Cleaning provides efficient services. They are very careful to protect any part of the house when bringing in hoses. They offer a good price for the work. We will use them again.

Called to get my furnace and vents cleaned. They called a day before to remind me (phew!) They were on time and professional. They helped me understand how things were done and the charges that were applied. Will definetly recommend them to all.

Called before the service to find out if their were any other costs involved as i purchased a 49.00 Groupon that was good for 10 ducts. Was advised of the a/c charge and environmental fee but they forgot to mention that along with the ducts all the fresh air vents had to be also done. I had advised the representative that I spoke with that I did not want to do the basement and she never mentioned to me that no all had to,be done. The repressive that came to do the job advised me that instead of paying for an additnal 8 ducts I had an additional,of 18 at 22.75 you can see why I was to happy. The furnace had already been cut open when they advised me of the amount Called customer care and basically told me to read fine print that air vents were the same in their description as ducts. Will never use again and will,post this warning to others who purchase coupons be be aware of this companies shady business practices.
