Carpentry At Its Best

Niall and his team was so easy to work with! This was our second job and he's quickly become our go-to. He is honest, thorough, fair and above all, a true pro. They re-did our front porch, back deck and took care of some odds and ends indoors. There were serious challenges to installing the deck correctly - mainly from all the tree roots below grade, but that didn't impact schedule, cost or quality. They took everything in stride and were true pros. If you're looking for someone to do good with, communicate well and price reasonably, Niall is your contractor. He's on speed dial for our next project.

Niall tore down and rebuilt my front porch. He arrived when he said he would. He and his fellow carpenter were efficient, good communicators and entirely trustworthy, not to mention skilled carpenters. Their quote was fair and they went out of their way to source quality cedar and to make sure I was happy with the final results. I had confidence that I was dealing with professional craftsmen whom I'd never hired before. Highly recommend.

I hired Niall to rebuild my bench and shed. The end result exceeded my expectations. The bench is more beautiful than the original, and the shed looks almost identifical to before the squirrels ate it.

After purchasing a new home I contracted Niall to fix assorted issues discovered during inspection. These included but were not limited to: replacement of damaged fixtures, repair of urgent plumbing and electrical problems, replacement of failing exhaust fans and problem windows, gate and door repair/replacement, and patching and painting. All work discussed was completed and Niall accommodated a tricky schedule to get the work done.

Niall and his team built us a beautiful new porch, railing, steps, exterior columns, and trim around our front door. He is beyond knowledgeable about trim work and was a great resource to discuss the approach to our job. He worked very quickly and completed the job on time and budget. I would recommend him and his very talented team to anyone seeking trim work or carpentry. He is very very good! Couldn't be happier

We are extremely happy with all the work Niall and his team did in our new house construction. Everything they did was top notch, and done on time, and for a reasonable price. Niall has an eye for detail, and it shows in the work he and his team did, which was of the highest quality. They were also very friendly, communicative, approachable and helpful. This was our third job by Niall and The Carpentry at its Best. His estimate was reasonable and accurate which helped budgeting for the job. He offered his advice on the materials and finish, and was flexible on which materials we should get and which ones he will provide. The work, the most important part of any job was done very well, actually extremely well. Couple of time when cabinets did not match/fit, they re-did the portion of the mounting so that the result is perfect. I simply did not have to worry about anything. I am really looking forward to doing more renovations with him.

We found Niall and his team on Homestars and feel very lucky we did. They did an excellent job on our home renovation. The scope of work included the removal of a "curtain wall" of windows from the front of our home and framing for new windows. They also installed Hardieboard cement siding. It wasn't an easy job given the height of our house and some underlying issues they found along the way. We also had a new front door and cedar soffits installed.

Interior work included extensive drywall, installation of baseboards and removing bulkheads.

Niall clearly knows his profession very well and works extremely hard. We felt he really cared about our project and was meticulous with everything he did!

We weren't living in the house, so it was a great relief to be working with someone that we fully trusted. He was concerned with cost on our behalf and made suggestions that could minimize costs.

In short, Niall and his team have our highest recommendation.
