The whole concept of an alarm system is to feel safer at home. If you accept that and if you are ok with the police/fire not necessarily rushing to your house when an alarm is sounded, then ADT is the company. I was paying $35/m and then called the reception and basically got a $10/m discount. The signs and the decals are really what Im paying for.
I found that setting up the installation and service was pretty easy, however I found the product a little inferior. The response time from when the alarm would sound to when anyone would show up to the house was about 40 minutes. Also, times that we answered the phone call from adt to inform them that there was no emergency, where the times they would send out the police.
The alarm service does not work, when you call ADT to come fix it they never show up or give poor excuses as to why it cannot be fixed. They then claim enormous penalties, although you are paying for a service that does not work. Have forwarded this to BBB
First of all, read EVERYTHING to the letter they make you sign. I was tricked into a 3 year maintenance contract that I was unaware of until I was having problems and wanted out. They took my old cameras down that I only replaced for better quality HD ones. They then installed low resolution junk cameras. Put 2 in out of eight then left me for months without cameras. After more months of arguing and phone tag, I finally got my cameras 1 year later, but they were not working correctly. They did not comply with their part of the contract but yet I still had to pay. In the end they finally got their payment over 1.5 years after the initial install date. I still don't have cameras that function properly. They do not come to fix it like in the contract. When it was all done I had to pay to get out of the contract, $2000+. I do not recommend using this company due to my long and horrible experience with them.
We had done many research with various alarm companies such as Alarm Force, ADT, Brinks, Counter Force, etc, however in the end we had chosen ADT.
Why? Well their rep had come to our home informing of the various packages we can choose from along with "no catch" promotions. The price was right too.
Installation was done efficiently and the technician who installed the Alarm System + keypads explained each function of the keypad and how to troubleshoot.
Even the telephone agents are helpful for any small question and are very friendly over the phone.
Will definitely recommend.
With this cost we recieved fire protected. Window contacts throughout the home. 2 motion detectors. 2 Key pads. When our alarm went off ...the security alarm from ADT responded very quickly and checked home throughout. Call centre called home quickly.
I have been an ADT customer for 9 years now. I recently have been getting an error message on my security keypad and when I called to ask for guidance, the service I received was exceptional! The customer service representative took the time to trouble shoot and follow up with me with status reports. The problem ended up be minor (a battery replacement for $50). I was extremely impressed with how knowledgeable the rep was as well as their patience and kindness!
