Plumbing Dunn Right

Plumber came to fix two leaky pipes. He arrived the next day and was on time. Did a good job. Gave recommendation for future. I was very happy with the service.

I called around 7:30pm and explained that my furnace humidifier water is constantly runny and the valve won’t shut the water off. I need the humidifier fixed and the water valve to shut off the water. They quoted me $150 as it was considered an emergency at this time of night. I asked how soon could they get someone in? They said not until 2-3 days later. So I thought $150 would fix the problem therefore I agreed for them to come...that was the impression I got from them on the phone. When the technician came he reviewed the situation, turned off the water supply then told me he can only change the water valve for another $218 and he doesn’t know how to fix the humidifier. They could have told me over the phone that they can’t fix the humidifier or at least send someone over who can. Then the technician tried to convince me that if I called the furnace company, they wouldn’t know how to change the valve. Oh and if I changed my mind they can discount $50 off of the next service. So we got someone else to fix everything within 30 mins, including the humidifier for only $175.

Called these guys up because they're based out of Milton too, Rob was over in no time. Very friendly and polite guy, can explain very succinctly and was very, very helpful. He did a great job and had the whole thing wrapped up in an hour or two. Looking forward to hiring his expertise again! :) great guy

I called Plumbing Dunnright to have a few things installed and replaced. I had Rob come on the first day to install the RO unit and repace the kitchen faucet, he was on time, polite, clean, quote was accurate! The second day I had Chris come and install the toilet, he was also a pleasure to deal with. Zero issues with this company, would recommend them to anyone. Excellent and best company I've ever had to deal with.

We needed four sinks and taps installed after having new countertops put in. We've often seen the Dunn Right signs around town so decided they'd be one of the three quotes we'd get. Keith answered the phone when we called the first time (something you never get nowaways!) and showed up exactly when he said he would. He gave us a very reasonable quote so we decided to forego any others and stayed with Plumbing Dunn Right. We're glad we did. The installers arrived on time and with all equipment necessary. They made sure everything was working and when it was discovered one of the drains was leaking after installing the sink with the old pipe fixtures, new pipe fixtures were used and the leak was gone. The quote was dead on. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Keith and Plumbing Dunn Right.

Called these guys on a weekend because I had no hot water, I knew the mixing valve needed to be replaced (so I assumed they would have a part when they came or ask what size I needed) rush fee for the job was quoted around $400 plus tax, so I said I could wait until Monday to a save a little on the labour...

Monday rolls around, worker shows up 3 hours late at my house and doesn't have the correct part, says he had to go to Home Depot. Comes back in an hour WITH another guy, who I can only assume he picked up while he was out, since Home Depot is only a 10 minute drive from my house. Replaced the mixing valve in about 15 minutes total, then charges me 1.5 hours labour because he had to go to the store, and tells me "I didn't charge you for the second guy" as if I'm getting a deal... so the bill comes out to $450.

Spoke with the owner and he offered me a $50 credit on the next job, which is essentially worthless a) if I never use them again, which I won't... and b) they may just tack that $50 onto the next bill somehow anyway.

I feel like these guys charged me the "RUSH" fee even though I waited a day with no hot water... then were late on top of that and showed up with no parts and billed me for an hour to go to the store. I can understand if they were doing a large job or troubleshooting a problem, but when you know what the job is and likely replace one of these a week, you would think you'd come prepared.

Oh, and the hot water wasn't even fixed when they left. Told me something else was wrong with the tank and I had to call Reliance to fix it. So who knows if the valve even needed to be replaced? I don't... I'm not a plumber, but my faith in these guys is not good.

Three plumbers from Dunn Right, including the owner, visited and installed 3 hammer arrestors at a cost of $340, which didn't correct the issue. A written $1500 estimate was then provided for more arrestors and a PRV. Mention of replacing my copper pipes with PEX at an approx cost $8000 was also presented (verbal, not written).
Ultimately the issue was resolved by another local plumber in less than 10 mins with a free part under warranty from Delta. Also, two of the arrestors installed by Dunn Right needed to be removed as they were placed in inaccessible locations. I could have easily spent thousands with Dunn Right unnecessarily so would not recommend this company for any type of plumbing service.
