Called last Saturday to repair garage door that did not open. I was told that it would cost double ($320 + tax) for someone to come out and look at it. Since it was on a weekend, they couldn't give me an free estimate. We informed the call-back person that we thought it was the cables and possibly the spring. The repair person determined that the cables we fine but the spring was broken. He added a temporary clamp to allow the door to open and close. However, he didn't have the replacement
spring. To fix the garage door, Door Doctor informs us we need to pay the labour fee for the upcoming appointment to fix the spring. This labour fee wouldn't have been charged if the spring was available for the emergency call. We were never informed during the phone call on the 30th, or by the repair person, that an additional labour cost would be charged if the necessary parts weren't in the truck. After agreeing to pay the emergency visit fee, why are we now being told we need to pay additional labour charge?
