termite control

We called Joe from Snap in the summer because we noticed termites in the basement. Joe came and inspected the basement and made suggestions. I’m very happy with the idea that Joe did the investigation carefully. He pointed out to us that there were specific problems connected with the accumulative causes of the termites (e.g. the position of our downspouts and blocked drains, the flooding in Toronto etc.)
As part of the plan, we were advised to remove all wood to soil contact throughout the basement floor, ceilings and walls, basement windows, and sealed up all nail holes etc. He literally had to return to the job several times in order to complete the treatment properly. It was a job that the termites needed to be flushed out from the first floor (wood floor) down to the basement. Joe had to drill tiny holes into our floor joists (upstairs) and into our basement slab. He brought all the tools necessary to do the job and made calculations to determine the amount of chemical treatment required. He also had to struggle with the parking on the street due to the sizeable spray equipment needed and the busy downtown traffic and the closure of our street due to the water main repair program by the City at the time. He used two chemicals, one for the wood, one for the soil and he came back to do two spread out sprays for the job. The termites are gone and we know what to watch out for. Thank you, Joe!

Company Response

Thanks for the kind review. Termites are indeed the most difficult structural pest to exterminate. There are conducive conditions involved which should be addressed in tandem with a plan and control measures. I had to make multiple trips on this particular job to assess the situation and was fortunate indeed to have a client that was systematic and willing to open her home. Thanks again, Joe
