plumbing work

Michael Cousins suggested we complete some additional plumbing work to install a back water flow system. He said the City had a subsidy to cover the majority of the costs. His work was good, however, we were denied the subsidy of $1,250 because he did not have a valid license. His license expired before he even started the work for us, and it was expired even though he filled the forms to the City for the Subsidy. He continued to make excuses that he was sorting the matter with the City when in fact he knew he operated without a license and that we as with many of his other customers would never see a subsidy as a result.
I liked Michael who did good work and had very good customer service in person - I am very disappointed.

Approximate cost of services:
$2,000.00

Company Response

IN REPONSE TO THIS CLAIM THERE WAS A DRAIN LAYERS LIC THAT WAS VALID AND A BUILDER RENOVATORS THAT WAS VALID AT THIS TIME. THE REASON FOR THE DENIAL OF THE REBATE FOR BACK WATER VALVE INSTALLATION IS THERE WAS NO DRAIN CONTRACTOR LIC CURRENT. THERE WAS A PERMIT IN PLACE AND THE CITY OF TORONTO INSPECTED THE WORK THAT WAS INSTALLED BY A LIC DRAIN LAYER AND PASSED. THE WORK WAS DONE IN ACCORDANCE TO PLUMBING CODE AND INSPECTED.
