Home Inspection

I am sorry to say this but I found the experience minimally satisafactory. This is my 2nd inspection and this inspector's report was far, far briefer, included many less photos and we later found several areas that the inspector failed to check, such as the ice machine is broken, the dishwasher not secured, the vacuum outlets not all working, ants in the house, etc. No inspector can find everything but these surface issues should have come up. Over all the inspector was polite, accessable, communicative and friendly but I felt lacked thoroughness in both the services and the report. Particularly when comparing to past inspections I have had. I also dislike the pressure I received to then posting a refferal/rating online. I feel this insistance scews the validity of these sites for the public. Over all the services were not bad per say (as I said minially satisfactory) but would not refer this inspector to any family or friends.

Approximate cost of services:
$400.00

Company Response

Dan, I’m very sorry that you feel the experience was somewhat dissatisfying. I did spend extra time answering questions with you and your family during and after the inspection. In response to the issues that you mentioned, I feel some explanation is warranted: The ice machine: appliances were not checked as part of this home inspection, this is partly due to the fact that an appliance may have worked at the time of the inspection but does not at the time of possession and some appliances are not included in the sale. Dishwasher: Both during the inspection and clearly stated in the report was discussion that most aspects of the kitchen reno were done poorly and unprofessionally. Vacuum outlets: Often electrical and vacuum outlets are blocked by furniture and only a representative sample is checked. Ant activity: Ants are not active in the winter and early spring and evidence of any activity was not visible at the time of the inspection. The purpose of a home inspection is to find major concerns not to make a detailed ‘honey do’ list. I appreciate your honest review and believe that it helps to prove the validity of review websites. We send out an email after the inspection as a means of promoting the business, every review is an opportunity to improve how we serve our clients. I’m sorry that you considered my email request to be pressure; I in no way would want anybody to feel pressured to post a review. Please feel free to call in the future if you have any questions. Thank-you Dan
