CountryWide Homes - Bradford Dreamfields Home Purchase

My Girlfriend and I had decided to purchase a home in the Bradford dreamfields division. It is a brand new build and the community has a lot of potential for growth. We decided to purchase with Countrywide Homes due to there floor plans and lay out in February 2009. Basically buying from this company in my eyes has become a massive mistake and we should have realized it from the beginning when dealing with the terrible sales rep. we had who is suppose to be the sales manager. Our sales rep. was at times to say the best very rude and we found that he would speak to us as children ( we are both in our thirties). it took forever to get all the changes signed off and we were constantly chasing him down in order to simple get our purchase offer back.

Next we move to the building stage of things in our signed off offer by the architect and the builder there were some structural changes nothing big really a removal of a wall in the upstairs and a removal of an arch way. We thought these were not big changes, Our sales rep said these were minor changes.

However, when the building started and the framing started the main floor archway was installed and when brought to the builders attention we were told that the building on our unit would be stoped so that they could get everything fixed.the following weekend we visited our house to see more work down. again we went to the sales office and told them they had to stop, this problem must be fixed first. following weekend same thing except the electrical had been done. again we went to the sales office and demanded they stop working on the house. that Monday we made many phone calls to the head offices and after speaking with many people we scheduled a meeting with the foreman for the site. the following weekend we met with the foreman he understood exactly what our problem was and said not a problem everything will be fixed before we move on to anything else, but also let us know he was not staying on this site and would be conveying the info to the new foreman. Guess what folks message was never delivered.

Instead the plumbing was installed and the concrete floor was poured in the basement locking in all the incorrect plumbing. when we went to the new foreman to tell him of his mistakes we were told we are wrong and our original plan that again was signed off on could not be done. We reported this to the head office and was told don't worry he will be corrected and everything will be done properly. we continued to visit and things were still being done improperly when we finally spoke to the foreman basically we were told that the way its done is the way its done and not to bother him any longer he is done with our issue ( this is the nice way of explain what he said no reason to repeat the foulness that came from his mouth)when he had basically told off and berated my girlfriend and nothing else could be done.

Picture this if you can a living room with a walkway or archway in the middle of it with a bulk head built on the side of it right in the middle of the living room. this is between where you would have a couch and the view of your TV think how that would look with a 2 foot wide bump hanging from your ceiling

This was reported to the head office 2 weeks later this foreman was fired and a new one was hired.

I went to meet the new foreman and the 1st foreman that was working this job again on location and was told don't worry everything will be fixed and fixed right just give us 2- 3 weeks.
3 weeks later visited and nothing was done
When i called the new foreman I was told he had no excuses and it just had not been done

Everything in the house has been fixed to a certain degree. I have never experienced a company that is so rude or unprofessional in my life. especial when dealing with high end items like a house I am sorry to say I would not buy from this company again and would strongly advise that others do not as well.

If we hadn't visited our home we would have never known about this building issue and would have been very upset when we moved in.

Instead we have moved in yet, are already very upset due to the over 20 100km drives back and forth and on top of that have been treated extremely badly by there staff

Buyer Beware
