Contractor walked away with 90% of the contract fees when less than 80% of the work was completed. On top of that he kept change order fees and neither provided the materials nor started the additional work.
Cleaning up the mess increased our costs by 20%. During the work that was done, he was seldom present when subtrades were working. Now we are finding all kinds of issues - like hot and cold water lines reversed inside finished walls, missing cold air returns, etc. We checked "references" but failed to look online. Wish we had.
