A&A Masonry

I was in a bit of a pinch, and am getting ready to sell my house. My realtor put me in touch with A & A whom had their rep, Dan come out the very same day & quote me for the repairs. This morning Dwight came early as scheduled and did a beautiful, seamless job. A true professional with a serious work ethic. I would highly recommend this company they have done an outstanding job.

I waited until after the winter to write this review to see how the work that was performed by A&A Masonary would hold up to the harsh winter we had. The work was done in late Sept 2013. A&A repaired brick work and parging on 3 walls of our garage. They responded quickly with a quote and then were able to start the work fairly shortly after. Job was labour intensive, messy, and had to involve hand digging as there was no room for machinery. The guys spent a week in total digging about 4 ft below grade, replacing all the brick with concrete brick that can be used for below grade applications. They also parged and put a waterproof coating as an extra measure. Darryl and his crew worked basically 10-12 hr days, cleaned up after each day and were personable to deal with. I would recommend them for any masonary type work or repair job.

After some basement flooding, I contacted A&A for a waterproofing job on my 70+ year old home. I got an immediate response and on site estimate from their representative Brad. Brad was extremely friendly and provided creative options helping me determine a cost effective solution for my waterproofing issues. This included how and when to apply for city rebates.
Throughout the project, Dominic a very informative and knowledgable waterproofing expert walked me through each step as it occurred daily. Dominic's team worked consistently to ensure the rental home was still functional and safe, while staying in the agreed upon timeline. Due to the age of the home, there were some unforeseen obstacles that A&A worked through, without changing the original estimated price.
Throughout the job Dominic's team was very professional and treated repairing my home as if it was their own.

We used AA Masonry last fall to diagnose and repair a leak from our front porch into our cold room beneath. Dan came out quickly to take a look and perform some water tests to determine where the water was entering the house. Once we decided on a plan, Dwight (mason) was scheduled to complete the repairs. He was conscientious about the work and completed everything to our satisfaction. We would not hesitate to use their services again.

We wanted to repair some cracked mortar and stones on the front of our recently purchased home. We contacted A&A immediately after researching them on Homestars. Dan came out to assess the scope of work involved, He was very professional, polite and offered advice to us as he looked around the property. He even went as far as to find a matching stone as we had no idea who manufactured, or installed it originally. Being out of season, we had to wait for the weather to cooperate. On the eve of the first nice day of the season Andy called and booked us in the next day. James arrived on time and was equally polite and professional. He looked over the work to be done, explained the process and what he was going to do. He obtained the stone required and got to work. He listened to everything we had to say and acted upon it as if it was his own house. After going over all the areas of concern to us, he went over the rest of the home paying attention to every detail and fixing every small flaw or crack he could find. He did a fantastic job and the house looks great. He went over all the work done, pointed out anything that he saw as future potential issues with other items on the home.Upon completion, James took the time to ensure that the entire work area was left spotless by cleaning the roof, porch and driveway. We would highly recommend A&A Masonry to anyone and everyone. As a matter of fact, the work looks so great that neighbors came over asking for his card before he was even done. This was one of the best contractor experiences we have had. All three employees that we dealt with were absolutely polite, helpful and professional. Theyt really made us feel that the customer is their top priority.

Our downtown Toronto century home's exterior brickwork was in need of some repair. Impressed with the professional consultation we had with with Brad, we choose A&A Masonry for the job.
This morning Dwight was sure to arrive early enough to review the job specifications with us and by the time we arrived home he was finishing up. Dwight did an outstanding job, including replacing some hard to reach heavily damaged bricks. Additionally, he was meticulous in cleaning up after himself leaving the work area cleaner than he found it!
Overall we have been very happy with the whole team at A&A Masonry and would not hesitate to use or recommend their services.

Highest possible recommendation for A&A Masonry. Called them for an estimate on a chimney rebuild. Dan came out the next day and did a thorough evaluation and also pointed out some areas in need of tuck pointing. Gave them the go ahead, and they were out a few days later. Ronaldo and his team did an amazing job. In fact, I had a roofer out to inspect the shingles a few days after A&A completed their job, and he remarked that the Chimney rebuild was one of the best he had ever seen. I think that is all that really needs to be said. So happy that I chose to go with A&A Masonry, and I will be definitely calling them and recommending them to everyone I know! A&A fixed a large crack that we had on our east exterior wall. Their staff was not only professional, but took the time to look at the issue. It was fixed at the right time before winter affected negatively our home. They also fixed a few other spots around the house. The money invested was totally worth it. After this harsh winter the masonry work looks perfect.

A&A is very professional, they did fantastic work. I would definitely use them again. Bill was very thorough and quick to get back to me with a quote which was very reasonable. I would definitely recommend their services.

We ran into a contractor that steered us in the wrong direction on a waterproofing job to our 1880's row house. The house has a dug out basement that was benched and we were advised by another company that we should waterproof the outside down to the original footing (with no solution for the sunken benched basement). Vincent and Domenic came in and spent some time carefully surveying the situation. They told us that the only solution to waterproof our house was from the inside. It was so refreshing to see this consultative, customer first approach. While we aren't using them on this job, we will definitely be calling should we require waterproofing/masonry work again. Very helpful, knowledgable team…. Strongly recommend them!!

By the way..the $25 was value of the thank you gifts we provided them for their outstanding service!
