Happy to have found HIP to do my bathrooms!

Did my kitchen, basement renos and all were a nightmare! Answered prayer Id say because Slava, Rafael were just amazing! The whole project were done with professionalism and care. Most importantly, they were pleasant to deal with. Im glad to have found them! I just wished I knew them sooner! Oh and Gerhard was great as well! Thank you guys!!!

We are very happy with the final results however the process of getting there was not as smooth as we would have hoped. The project started off great and we were very pleased with the progress and enjoyed working with Caio. However, at some point I feel the communication started to break down and the quality of the finishing work started to deteriorate. We were no longer being consulted on major decisions or being advised of deviation from the project plan. After mentioning to Caio that a shower bar was mounted where we didn't want it to be, it took 3 separate attempts to remedy the issue as our instructions weren't followed. We were quite disapointed to find that several of the items we had purchased for the bathrooms got scratched up during the installation (chrome shower plate, tub, vanity countertop, toilet seats). These items eventually got repaired/replaced however the process of getting these guys to take responsibility for the damaged items wasn't the most pleasant. In terms of the finishing work, we found the painting to be sloppy and after having the painters come back several times we ending up touching up the painting ourselves. We were eventually told the project was finished and to meet them at the house with the final cheque however certain items still weren't completed (buffing the tub) and the drywall repair in the living room was very poorly done. I was really shocked at this point as to how professional contractors could do such a sloppy job on the drywall and consider it to be finished. In conclusion, I must say that this company honoured their word and remedied all the issues. I only wish that this experience could have been smoother.

We just recently finished our basement reno with the home improvement people. From the day they started to completion we felt we were in good hands. The basement was always clean and Elia was always available to walk us through progress or any questions we may have had. Him and his crew were an absolute delight to have in our home and we will definitely be reaching out to you guys again when we're ready to do our washroom.

We hired The Home Improvement people to do our renovation. We had our whole main floor gutted and redone. Put in new wood floors, lighting and kitchen. We had a wall removed, redid the powder room, stairs and replaced all baseboards and added crown molding. We worked with Charlotte on the design and ran to her whenever we needed help deciding on colors or styles. We did not stay in the house during the renovations and left everything up to our project manager Larry. He was always available and always quick to respond so there was no concern leaving the house unattended. Workmanship was outstanding, we are very happy with the finished work. The floor looks better than when we bought the house new.

Sorry guys that it took me a few weeks to write this. This is our second project using The Home Improvement People. They just made it easy for us. Helped us with a custom vanity. Helped us choose all the finishings using an interior designer that they didn't charge us for. Vince and I are so happy that we have a company that we trust for our renovation needs. Their prices are competitive And you definitely get what you pay for in this industry. We have had previous nightmare stories before we found The HIP. Thanks again.

After spending hours searching for a reputable contractor for our home renovation, the last thing we wanted to do was having a bad experience and shell out more money than what we had in our budget. I did my research and interviewed a few contractors, and the impression I had with Home Improvement People stood out the most for me. Dan explained all the details up front and provided a quote that evening after our initial meeting. The renovation was on time from start to the end. Mark and his crew were professional on the job, informative and were able to provide handy tips.
The finished basement turned out BEAUTIFUL. I cannot say enough good things – great team, friendly, on schedule, cost effective…it is amazing. I am very happy with the whole experience, and I would definitely recommend Home Improvement People to others, and would hire their team again for any future renovations.

This was my first time working with the Home Improvement People. What an amazing team. Elia provided the initial quote and statement of work. Every detail was written in the contract so that there would be no surprises. After signing the contract, I realized there was one item missing which was verbally discussed, but not written down. Elia took full responsibility and made it right.

And then there were the actual workers. I can’t say enough about Kris and his team. The workmanship and professionalism of these men were outstanding. I look forward to working with them on our next projects.

To be sure, the Home Improvement People are not the cheapest contractors out there. But if you want the piece of mind that the job will be done right, then they are well worth it.

A piece of advice for anyone who wants so use their services: know exactly what you want before contacting them. If you need help with design, then hire an interior designer. Be sure to buy all your furniture and accessories beforehand (e.g. vanities, faucets, paints, etc.). You should have all your colour schemes decided beforehand. They provide the builder’s necessities like drywall, primer, floorboards, etc. Once you have a vision of what you want, they will make it happen.

We had our master en-suite bathroom renovated by the team at the Home Improvement People (HIP). The quality of the work done by Mein and his crew was top notch. They communicated options and issues clearly and quickly and in the end the bathroom looks great. You can tell Mein takes pride in his work, and operated with respect for our home. They were able to complete the job in just over a week. We are very happy with the end result and would not hesitate to use the HIP for our next reno.

Basement reno included a new enclosed bathroom, painted existing rough and exposed ceiling and the movement of the washer and dryer. The team and subcontracting crew is friendly, easy to work with, and considerate. They were able to start right away and work on the scope quickly and more cost effectively.

However they have a few areas for improvement:

Finishing - Painting and silicone is messy

Rushed work - 2 leaks, poor patch work, cracked/missing grout, etc..

Follow-up: Volume of visits, not the process. Project Management not onsite and the same crew is used to fix issues after they have moved on. It took 9 weeks to get the variances resolved. I'm left touching up the walls and paint still.

Nucu and his team were great... very punctual, self-sufficient and respectful to our home. They turned around the project twice as fast as anyone we got quotes from and they stuck to the budget quote provided.
