Front Porch Construction

Working with this company was a nightmare from day one. I am now almost 8000 poorer and have another construction company here to clean up the mess they made of my front porch.

Adam was contacted in February, provided an estimate and promised to complete the job by April. The work didn't commence until July. When the work began it was realized that he had not inspected the pillars and I would need to purchase metal posts. fine, so I did. Construction began and again because a proper inspection wasn't done prior to beginning, the project ran into problems because the substrate for the pillars wasn't stable.

I then asked for a complete inspection and was told that the front porch would have to be completely demolished and rebuilt. Adam as much as admitted that he was out of his depth.

I asked that they clean up after the inspection and put the porch in a safe condition. The estimate I had for completing this work was over $2000. I fired them and now have someone cleaning up after them and putting the site in a safe condition and it will cost me $350. GOUGING GOUGING GOUGING and very incompetent.

Buyer beware.

I'm still waiting for them to drop off the steel posts that I've paid for and expect that will never happen. Almost $8000 down the drain and if I had the time I'd take them to small claims court.

True story.

I have the feeling that all the other glowing reviews must be planted comments by freinds and family. This experience has even started to turn me off of home stars, unfortunately. All the other trades I've found here have been fantasic. I guess there's a rotten apple in every barrel of good ones.

Approximate cost of services:
$7,500.00

Company Response

Hi Mary. I know your project didn't go as planned and I am sorry that this job ended this way.
All the best in the future,
