Waiting after almost 6 Months for rest of furniture

Large house and movers weren't prepared for move. They did not come ahead of time to see what needed to be moved. Not enough room on truck had to get second. Long distance move one month later. Movers didn't have room for everything. They didn't tell us until after we had paid by certified cheque. Was told I would get my stuff next month. Almost 6 months later and I am still waiting. They are two antique tables. I don't expect to ever see them again.

Sunday June 12, 2016 @ 12:43PM further to the above review. Cloverdale contacted HomeStars stating that we were not "paying customers" then they called my husband asking him to remove this review and they would deliver our furniture. Minutes ago the movers arrived with our furniture from our move in December, but would not return our furniture to us unless we removed this review. They left our premises with our furniture.

Approximate cost of services:
$10,000.00

Company Response

When arriving to Derek Dalsin's house we were prepared to handle such a large move which cost around ten thousand dollars, we made sure everything was secured and put away properly on the trucks, with two trucks packed there were no damaged items. While our movers were putting the items on the trucks, Ms. Nancy Josland wasn’t prepared and was still packing while the move was taking place. Ms. Nancy Josland didn’t realize the move would take the whole day and thought it would only be a couple of hours. Since we respect our client’s belongings we handled the items with extreme care and due to the move being a large oneit took a longer period of time. The client was downsizing the home but not the items, so he did ask our movers if they wanted to take some items of his hands.

Mr. Derek Dalsin had two basic tablets that had the legs secured by glue so they would be more durable, these tables were stored in his garage for storage purposes. Since we could not move the tablets while they were secured, Mr. Dalsin agreed the tablets would be brought to the new house on another trip, Mr. Dalsin didn’t communicate to us that he was in any sort of rush to receive his items and they would be delivered whenever we had a trip around the area.

We got in touch with Mr. Dalsin after New Years and presented the idea of a delivery taking place, but due to his scheduled he was not able to receive the tablets. Since then nothing was communicated to us about another date that he had available.

Once a delivery date was set and we arrived at Mr. Dalsin’s home but again due to his schedule the tablets could not be delivered. Our driver had to take the tablets with him to Calgary, AB and attempt another delivery on his way back. Due to this issue we wanted an agreement signed by both parties, Cloverdale Moving & Mr. Dalsin stating that the items were delivered, but he didn’t want to sign the agreement and decided he didn’t have any use for his two basic tablets anymore.

We did ask Ms. Nancy Josland to adjust the review so it stated true events and not false statements such as “I don’t expect to ever see them again” We have tried multiple times to arrange the delivery but we got no responses to emails and phone calls and Mr. Dalsin decided to not to communicate with us.

We still have the two basic tablets in our storage unit waiting for Mr. Dalsin to have picked up at his own convenience.

Thank you,
Cloverdale Moving
