Planet Granite was engaged to supply and install a quartz countertop and island during my kitchen renovation. It was quickly discovered that the surface of the quartz had several areas of defect ABOVE the factory polished surface. All attempts to have the company assume responsibility for and provide compensation were met with silence. It was ONLY when I said that I planned on reporting them to the BBB that I received a response from a company representative. The email was extremely inappropriate, unprofessional, and threatening, and was an attempt TO PREVENT me from posting a negative review. I have subsequently raised a case with the BBB however, since they are not accredited they have no requirements to settle the dispute in good faith. Ive just received an email from the BBB indicating that Planet Granite has not responded and this decided to place this review. The pictures posted undeniably show defects.
The cost of the product installed was just over $10,000. I was only seeking $1,200 as fair compensation instead of having them completely remove and replace the product. Instead of doing the right thing in my opinion, they chose to blame everyone but themselves. If they feel the responsibility resides elsewhere with their suppliers then THEY should seek compensation from them. Thats the normal way for financial recovery. Since my money and contract were with them, they should be the ones providing my compensation.
