Great Northern Insulation

We engaged Great Northern to do the insulation in our new home under construction of the shores of Georgian Bay.

Right from my initial interaction with Angelo in sales the experience has been excellent. They showed up when they said they would, expedited the work in a timely manner and their attention to detailing was exceptional. They also left the site in a clean manner ready for subsequent trades (unheard of these days).

Our 40 yr old house needed improvements to the venting and more insulation in the attic.
The Staff we dealt with were all very professional and personable from Richard, who provided the estimate, to the office staff and the two young gentlemen who completed the work. Everything was handled promptly and efficiently and the house was left cleaner than it started. I will highly recommend this Northern Insulation.

Had GNI come out to the house to inspect/review the attic insulation. They immediately noticed that there were very few air baffles which help improve air circulation inside the attic. After they installed the required baffles and topped up the insulation to R60 we found a significant improvement with thermal comfort on the second floor. Great job!

This was a new construction. Great Northern Insulation came in to install Spray foam for the crawl space, main floor and second floor as well as the garage. Some of the flat attic areas were supplemented with blown in fiberglass. The most impressive part was the cathedral ceiling spray foam. Everything was arranged and inspected by my great builder at every stage. Overall the job was very professionally done. For this new home we invested heavily on two of the most important areas; heating and insulation. We have in-floor heating throughout the main floor and back up with a traditional high efficiency furnace as well as a heat pump for summer air conditioning. We expect this home to have superior thermal qualities for all seasons. We hope to minimize two things; 1. Heat loss in the winter. 2. Excess heat from the sun in the summer.
I cannot wait to test it all out when the home is completed in the fall.

Great service from start to finish. Aaron came out to quote the job and walked us through step by step on what was going to be done and sent a quote within the week. Job was scheduled. The installers ( Tom and Brian, from Barrie ) were on time. They completed the job to the original SPEC and allowed me to check on the work. Great job, Great Company

Attic - Just recently i had Tom, John and austin from the barrie branch come and do my attic. very quick clean and professional. They answered all of my questions regarding the insulation. they ensured that the carpet was vacuumed clean of all debris before leaving. Would definitely use again.

Basement Spray Foam- two younger workers came in and sprayed the basement.product is sufficient. but the install quality could have been better. over spray on light , stairs and water meter left a section approx. 10 feet long unsprayed.

We built a cottage on the ?Bruce peninsula and needed to insulate the crawl space to meet the building code. I found Great ?Northern in the yellow pages and had an estimate over the phone followed up by a site visit to our home to confirm the price. We arranged for the work over the phone from our home in Calgary and they carried out the work without us having to be present. Upon completion of the work we paid over the phone and arranged for abuilding inspection which the work was inspected and passed. When we came out later in the summer we were finally able to see it and it was very well done, neat with no overspray and all the vents were not plugged from the foam. The work was well done with no fuss and handled very professionally from a long distance.

I searched around for insulation companies to have my attic
brought up to R60 . Great Northern Insulation was the only
that I like the way responded to my emails as well as my phone calls . They were easy to talk to and answered my question .
The installers were friendly and easy to talk to . They had the job done in no time at all , and cleaned up , I didn't have to do anything.

We looked at a lot of insulation companies but Great Northern was the one that did a complete evaluation and pointed out the extra services they included in their quote. They came when they said they would and Tom, John and Austin were efficient, professional and very particular.The quote was also very competitive. Good job!
