Highly recommend this company! Difficult roof successfully repaired at last! Here's the story. We had a new roof put on by another company that led to numerous problems they were unable or unwilling to fix. The last problem, which they attempted to fix unsuccessfully was a leak in a dormer. I called John Stewart and Andrew came during a heavy rain in order to better detect the issues, and stood outside on a ladder in the rain to examine the area. He identified the issue, which related to improper installation of the new roof in the first place, and came up with a plan to fix it in a way that didn't break the bank. The crew came and repaired the area. I didn't post a review right away because I wanted to see what happened in the rain. But now, a year later, I can report that the area is still clean and dry! Thank you John Stewart, Andrew, and everyone in the company!

Highly recommend J Stewart Roofing. They replaced our large roof, repaired a LOT of wood damage from raccoons, installed new soffit and fascia, new eavestroughs and disconnected us from the city sewers. 3 separate Stewart crews (experts specific to each part of the job) were all very pleasant. John gave us pictures of the roof damage with his quote, gave us options and explained the differences in his suggested materials. When the last crew was called off to another job, the owners actually came by (!) to clean up the last dropped nails and bits and pieces of the old roof. Left everything looking tidy and new. Very happy!

After researching flat roof repair and obtaining quotes from several roofers to fix our leaky 40 yr old flat garage roof, we chose John Stewart's proposal as we were given a clear outline of what the job would entail, details of materials and a cost breakdown. We feel confident we have maximized the life expectancy of our roof by having J Stewart and team completely remove and replace the roof with the latest specialized materials available for flat roof application. Did an excellent job replacing our garage flat roof. Plus the salesperson Larry was very helpful and explained what needed to be done. The workers were very professional and left everything very tidy when they completed the job. We would certainly recommend this company.

I discovered a leak in my roof on Labour Day weekend so I contacted a few companies from this website to get an estimate for a replacement roof. 2 of the 5 companies I contacted responded and I got a couple of estimates for a roof replacement. Unfortunately the estimates were about $3000 apart so I had no idea what the work was worth. I called J Stewart Roofing for a third estimate and it came in between the first two (with no leading!). John took the time to answer all my questions about the different shingles and he explained the ventilation requirements for my type of roof (one of the estimates included serious ventilation revisions). I was impressed with his knowledge and his willingness to make sure I had all the information I needed to make a decision. The decision was easy. I had to wait a couple of weeks for the work due to their busy schedule and he had his crew patch the vulnerable area of my roof until they could get to it. When it came time to do my roof, Danny and crew did a great job. They showed up when they said they would, completed the work in two days, and cleaned up the area really well. I love my new roof!

John Stewart and colleagues did a superb job installing a new Energy Star roof on our home. We were keen to have a new roof that would absorb less solar radiation and help with cooling the house in summer. John took us through the various Energy Star (U.S. rated) products available in the Canadian market, and we chose an economical one. He also waterproofed one of the windows on the side of the house. After the installation, a leak developed above the window. he returned himself on a weekend and made the repair -- no charge. You couldn't ask for better service.

J Stewart has done several roofing jobs for me, my family and my neighbours over the years. We've never had a problem with the work, even many years later. I know they are not the cheapest in town but you can rest assured that they will do a proper job and not cut corners.

Early March 2011, I'm 9 1/2 months pregnant and Toronto gets heavy rainfall! Our roof was done 3 years ago, before we bought our house, by a company that is now bankrupt. Initially we had a small leak in our toddlers room, with more rain it turned into a big mess and our son had to relocate. John came very quickly gave us a quote and squeezed our job in before the next deluge. Our flat rolled roof had become unsealed where it meets the drip edge in several significant places. John did a thorough inspection of my roof and gave a reasonable quote. The work was done quickly and well. Afterward, when I had 1 small issue that required follow up, John came back and fixed that issue plus another that wasn't even his responsibility. Very pleased with the job!
