Pete The Plumber

Just got off the phone with Zak with the on call service dept. at pete the plumber. I explained to him that his company installed our hwt a number of years ago and today, a day after our new furnace was installed, no more hot water! The company that installed the furnace yesterday suggested there was no way it was their fault, a coincidence they said. They further mentioned they would come out to check and that their would be an after hours (substantial) service fee for the visit. I declined and suggested he come up with a better solution and get back to me. In the meantime I spoke with Zak who answered the phone right away, no waiting for a call back, he instructed me to check the dial on the hwt, he said it should be in the "on" position, it was not. It was on "pilot" instead. He told me to turn the dial to ON...problem solved!! Thank you Zak and pete th plumber! Because they have yet to respond to my request for some sort of action as to their error, and the way I have been treated, I will not name the company involved. I do this because I believe in treating folks with respect and will not judge anyone by their errors, rather how they rectify them. My personal time involvement with the furnace folks (call, wait for call back from on call person, call again, wait for counter offer etc. ) 7 hours so far and waiting for another, final?, callback. My time spent with Zak at ptp, who resolved the problem, approx. 45 seconds.
